Due to unfortunate circumstances, This Webring has been closed. All sites listed in the member directory are still valid and all links should work, however, I can no longer access webring.org Ring Maintenance. My email address has changed from my original and someone has changed my password. I spent so much time and energy putting this webring together, unfortunately I no longer have that kind of time to redo it all! I apologize to all members and visitors for this. I have tried several times to contact webring.org for help, but have been given no answers as to how to fix this. Without the current password, I'm unable to do a thing! I'm sorry if your site has been removed from the ring, I had no control over it. So many of you have written it was difficult to respond to all of you individually. I hope this explains the confusion. I encourage any of you to carry on with the webring.. perhaps one of you will have the time to give it the attention it deserves. Anything I can do to assist in that, please let me know.
Again, I apologize to each of you and wish you well on your mission of self appreciation. Merry Meet and God Bless!
~Linda
I'm so glad you dropped by. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Linda.. aka the Emerging Goddess. This nickname was given to me by a friend because I started to discover who I really am, and let the Goddess within me Emerge for all the world to see.
I'd like to tell you a little bit about this group. It was founded on February 9, 1999. I decided to create this society of Goddesses because it's become my mission to help women, from all walks of life, discover the beauty that lies within.
As women, we are made to feel inadequate because our bodies don't resemble the 14 year old model on the cover of a magazine. Each and every one of us comes in a unique package. That is how God made us.. unique. No one just like another. I'm uncertain when and how this image of the perfect woman came to be, but I, along with my fellow Goddesses, are taking a small step to abolish this theory in the eyes of the public. Now I realize that we cannot change the world, nor can we change how the people of this world think. We can, however, change ourselves and how we think about our bodies and ourselves. And that, my friends, is good enough for me!
I'd like to point out that I nor any of my fellow goddesses are against men. Quite the contrary, I adore men and all they have to offer. We don't view life as a match (men vs. women), we view it as a partnership. Each individual bringing his or her strengths and weaknesses to form a solid, meaningful relationship.. friendship or otherwise.
Now some of you, I'm sure, are having a good laugh right about now.. but that's alright with me. I have come to a point in my life where I'm comfortable with myself, and I can laugh right along with you. Sure it's kind of silly to refer to myself as a Goddess, afterall, I'm just a regular gal, nothing special really. However, I think that every woman has a Goddess in them, and I started this ring to help those who are willing to find that Goddess within and show her to the world!
All that is required to join GOTW is that you be a woman, be friendly, and have a homepage that reflects the kind of woman you are. Our sole purpose is to help one another discover the Goddess within.
I'd like to share with you the GOTW sword of courage. It's
ok to be afraid, but true courage comes from being afraid
yet continuing to move forward. Feel free to take this
sword, or pass it on to a friend. A link back to us would
be appreciated.
The sword is one element of the GOTW Self-esteem kit. To see all the elements, click here
