Hi Guys!!
as you can tell I've been busy with some stuff; I've added a lot of photos and I even created a dragondance (or should that be dragon dance.. ??) page. You can get there through my new and improved Liondance (Lion Dance??) page:
Oh and let me know if the pics are too large to get an acceptable downloadspeed.

Look for a "Mr Teh" if you don't speak mandarin, malay, cantonese, hokkien, hakka or teochew. Mr Teh speaks English.

Hi Everyone,
Haven't heard from people in a while. I'm getting ready for my trip to Asia. I'm hoping to look at some equipment and get some videos. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
I was looking at the Lion's Den and noticed that I couldn't get to the Holland site (it just hung) and that the Melbourne site is no longer valid.
Any updates to these? I'm hoping the Holland site is just a networking error.
On another note, are people starting to prepare for Chinese New Years? Is this way to early? We are planning to start soliciting gigs for New Years. I'm wondering when and how do others go about doing this. In the past, we just wait for the gigs to come to us. We want to be more proactive this year.
Stephen.

Enjoy your trip!

Holland site can have temporary problems due to crashing of the server;

I'm working on that machine now (not working on it to get it fixed, too late for that ;-), and it runs fine; checked the links from another server, and they work fine. The server was probably down when you tried; if it still doesn't work, mail me privately with the date and time, and I'll find out if there's anything strange going on with the local net.
The server is half donated by HP to the department of Electrical Engineering; it is mostly used for student accounts, and sometimes the sysop doesn't work really hard to fix it as he has more to do,... ;-)

My teacher is preparing with some students, but we are also planning to do a performance mid December. I don't really know how it works with getting gigs; my teacher is Chinese and he just knows people that know people etc... I guess.

Hey Everyone!
We are so fortunate in Hawaii to have Dr. Hu visiting us. This Sunday, we're going to have a Lion Dance Exhibition at the Ward Warehouse Shopping Center in Honolulu with our special guest Dr. William Hu. He'll be there answering questions and signing his books. We'll be having a traditional Kai Kuang ceremony and some traditional lion dancing routines like the Lucky Greens in Water, and all kinds of other stuff. We are also going to have a group lion dance featuring lions from five or six different Hawaii Lion Dance organizations playing together in one area. Also in the group will be a baby dragon by the Kuo Min Tang Physical Culture Club and the Unicorn and Northern Lion by our club, the Chinese Physical Culture Association. I'll surely try to get some photos and put them up on our web page. (Hah Hah. I haven't touched the Web Page in a long time.)
This past Sunday we had dinner with Dr. Hu. I felt kind of bad because he had so much to talk about, he hardly had time to eat. Anyway, he has a lot of knowledge on the history of the Chinese Physical Culture Association, which was founded in the French controlled sector of Shanghai at the turn of the century. Anyway, he is a great guy and has a lot of sories to tell.
Got to go. Busy planning Sunday's event.
See ya later!
