    Hi Folks!

    Just a bit of news...

The Lion Dance World Championship 1998 will be held from the 17th to the 19th of July at Genting Highlands, Malaysia. It is jointly organised by the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Lion Dance Association, the International Lion and Dragon Dance Association, and Genting Highlands Resort. 17 teams from 10 countries are in this championship, and the countries participating are: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore,Indonesia, Vietnam, USA, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysia. This time only a maximum of 2 teams are allowed from each country. To all the teams participating, good luck! I will try to bring the lastest update as soon as it is available.

    Bye for now.

    George,

    Hi,

My name is George also. Thanks for the news. Is there a commercial video available for this event? Unfortunately, I can't make it to Malaysia to witness this exciting event, but would like to see it through some other medium.

    Regards,

    Hi folks,

Sorry for such a late reply but this is only change I had to reach a computer. Anyway, the results are:

    1. Kung Seng Keng (Malaysia, past champion). Points: 9.32
    2. Macau A, Points: 9.005
    3. Singapore (Loong Tien), Points: 8.975
    4. Taipei (Qinf Hung), Points: 8.85
    5. China B, Points:8.725

This is just a brief update. I will try to give a more detail report next week when I get back to Tawau. Anyway, this year's standard was higher than last time. There were 13 teams competing, namely from Hong Kong, China, Macao, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. Kung Seng Keng is still way ahead, but teams are chasing up. One surprise of the competition is a all girls team--China B! (No.5). The crowds loved them, and they are good!

Anyway, will give more detail later. Good to see Greg there too!

    George,

I posted an inquiry a month ago on places to purchase lions in Hong Kong. I think it was a Stephen Chen that reply to me with an address of a supplier. I have lost that email so could you please email me privately with the address again.

    Thanks!!

That would be Stephen Chew, not Chen :-)

Does someone have the email I sent? Unfortunately, I don't have the address with me right now.

I think the store is called Pak Wan. I know it is on Nathan road and Boundary. Just north of the prince edward MTR.

    Sorry.

    Hi everyone....

I was wondering if I could get some good quality dragons or lions for my troupe. Problem is can't find them and I rarely go to China to look for them. Especailly dragons, I would like light ones (about 2 to 3 kg) and nicely coloured ones. Where can I get them?
