We couldn't believe that anyone would carry stuff like that in Houston. Actually, the operation is out of the Sifu's home. We purchased 2 sets of 14" cymbals with the Wuhan factory stamp. I'm a rookie so I can't tell you how susceptable the cymbals would be to cracking. However, we're very impressed with the sound (starting to sound like pros :-)!). We might buy a drum from him soon. I would call ahead to make sure he has what you need in stock. Willy tells me that the Sifu gets most of his inventory on buying trips overseas.

I got two pairs of 14" cymbals from him at $49 a pair. Great price. The cymbals are made of pretty thin brass but it might actually have an advantage in the sound - they are bright, resonant, and they sound like more than one pair of cymbals playing at the same time. The company that makes them seem to be from 'Wu Han' China if I am translating Adam correctly - I think they supply most of the cymbals around nowadays. I think with proper care they won't crack that quickly, at least not as quick as any other instrument you take care of. But yeah, they are pretty good quality with a great, thundering sound. I would recommend this place.
