Note: move names written in lower case are made up.
Ruby Heart
Ruby
Heart is a female pirate whose moves involve objects like
anchors, chains and treasure. She has a move similar to John
Talbain's (DarkStalkers) rush, a dashing ball which she
can chain in different directions up to three times. She can
release a ghost from a chest which is unblockable and clings
to your fighter. She can also summon a column of blue water (fire?)
like Storm's move. Her first Super Combo is a super version of
her rush, her second calls in a pirate ship which stabs the opponent
and fires off cannons if it connects. Her third releases multiple
ghosts. Her assists are: chain throw, fire column and a power-up
pellet. Beta testers have so far given her the thumbs up.
Move Pictures:
- Special moves: Water column and chain throw
- Special move: ghost
- Super Combo: dashing ball
- Super Combo: multiple ghosts
Amingo
Amingo
the 'human' plant is on a quest to stop a wind which is drying out
all the plants. Yeah, nice one Capcom. Reportedly he plays like
Shuma Gorath. His special moves include dashing forward as a weird
pumpkin projectile, doing the same but bouncing and summoning baby cacti.
For his first Super Combo Amingo can transform in a vine tower like Ken's
Shinryuken. His second involves sending out a flower vine which puts
Amingo's opponent into his mouths. He then does a little routine with some
maracas. Surreal. His Alpha Assist grows a little green plant which gives life-up
(red 'recoverable' energy only though). His Beta Assist is also a plant, but it
is randomly blue (defense up) or yellow (speed up), each lasts around ten seconds.
Move Pictures:
- Super Combo tower vine and special move pumpkin rush
- Alpha Assist
- Super Combo swallow and special move pumpkin rush (movie 1)
Cable
Cable
is the son of Cyclops, from the future. He uses his big-ass
pistol and bigger-ass laser rifle for most of his attacks,
and every fierce attack uses the pistol. He can also toss out
grenades and do an uppercut using a spear. He has two known Hyper Combos,
a super version of his laser rifle special (same deal as Cyclops,
basically), and one where his shadow (like Morrigan/Lillith) does
a Weapon-X type super while Cable is free to act independently. Unlike
what you'd think, Cable does not play like Ryu or Cyclops, but is apparently
more like Gambit.
Move Pictures:
- Super Combo: beam
- Super Combo: shadow
- Super Combo beam and special move beam
- Special move: spear uppercut
Son Son
Sonson is from an old Capcom game on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Her
name also appears on the shop in Ryu's Stage in Street Fighter Alpha.
She hails from the same monkey legend as DragonBall, even though she's
female. Unsuprisingly, she plays a lot like Megaman, being fast, small and
annoying. She can walk around the screen and throw monkeys out as special attacks.
For supers she can attack with her super-sized staff, transform you into
a fruit (random) or change into a giant monkey, which can smash and breath
fire for a set time.
Move Pictures:
- Special move wall walk and super combo giant monkey
- Special move monkey shot
- Special move: staff uppercut (not confirmed)
- Super combo staff crush
- Super Combo: giant monkey (movie 5)
Marrow
Marrow
is a small, fast character, who attacks using bones. She has
a projectile, a move that comes off the wall similar to Bison's
Somersault Skull Diver and a move which fans bones out of
her back. Her two known supers are bone knives similar to
Ibuki's super from SFIII and one where huge bone
tentacles come out from her back and stab forward, then crumble.
See Marrow's history by Vega78 for her background.
Move Pictures:
- Super Combo: tentacle
- Super Combo: knives
- Super Combo: tentacle (movie 6)
Hayato
Hayato
hails from Plasma Sword, a 3D fighting also by Capcom. Although he has
undergone some changes, he still retains his PS moves and style, and
does not play like either Ryu or Strider. Hayato can do a five hit chain just
by holding back and hitting Jab. He also has a multiple slashing dash which
you'd expect from any swordsman, and an uppercut using his sword.
Move Pictures:
- Special move: uppercut
- Super Combo: slashing, end
Jill Valentine
One
of the heroes from Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) 1 & 3,
MvsC2 is her fighting game debut. Consequently she has a totally original
sprite and fighting style. However she remains true to her origins. Her special
moves include firing her gun as a counter, dodging zombies which then go
for her opponent, and a charging dash. Her only known super unleashes the Tyrant!
The 'A' in her move names may refer to the grade system, where your skill in
a RE game resulted in a grade.
Move Pictures:
- Special move: Beretta Throw
- Special move: Dodge A
- Special move: Close-up Attack A+
- Super Combo: Code T-002
Tron Bonne
Tron
comes from the adventure game Megaman Legends on PlayStation
(and Saturn? not sure). She wanders around in a robot suit and hence plays
slow but powerful. She utilises Kobuns to attack, cute little guys who look like
Lego men. Her Kobun Launcher shoots out a Kobun which slowly descends.
Shiki-dan is a move where she fires her control gun which results in
Kobuns imobilising her opponent. Her two known supers are Lunch
Rush, involving a stream on Kobuns carrying lunch trays, and King
Kobun, which is a giant Kobun striking with a hammer.
Move Pictures:
- Special move: Kobun Launcher
- Special move: Shiki-dan - about to fire
- Special move: Shiki-dan - succesful hit
- Super Combo: Lunch Rush
- Super Combo: King Kobun
Guile
Guile has so far been identified as a key fighter in this game, and is said to
be very powerful, as he's always been. His Alpha and Beta assists are the Flash
Kick and Sonic Boom respectively. Two Super Combos have been found, the
Sonic Hemisphere (Hurricane) from Alpha 3 and the air sonic break, which
is done in the air, works like a Weapon X and ends in a flash kick. See
movie 4, linked
- here.
Dr. Doom
Dr. Doom is said to play like War Machine from Marvel vs. Capcom. He can
fly and commands a variety of technology-related attacks.
Iceman
Returning from 1995's X-Men: Children of the Atom, Iceman is said to be
a very powerful character. Additionally, he takes not damage from blocked
projectiles.
Jin
Jin has reportedly improved since his MvsC debut.
Wolverine
Wolverine has been weakened a lot, especially his combo-ability. This will please
a lot of people, and make other weep. On the Dreamcast Wolverine apparently has bone
instead of Adamantium (because Magneto ripped it all out), but we've yet to see
how this will affect him.
Strider
For a lot of people their number one wish is for Strider to be weakened. His
Ouroboros does not last as long, and his Variable Assists reportedly suck.
