Street Fighter has sold a lot of copies The Magicbox has a list of the top selling console games of all time. Across all formats, Street Fighter II on Super Nintendo (Super Famicom) comes 19th, having moved 2.88 million copies. Yay! It was beaten by a lot of Mario, Pokemon and Final Fantasy games. Additionally, Street Fighter EX3 is the 10th best selling PlayStation 2 game since its Japanese release in March, and has sold 207,200 copies. Clap.
Street Fighter II X at IGN.DC A short article at IGN.DC: In case you're unaware, classic Street Fighter is coming to the Dreamcast in Japan this Christmas. On December 22, Super Street Fighter IIX hits Sega of Japan's Online sales service, Dreamcast Direct, giving Japanese gamers the chance to go at it old-school style with Online play. We're unsure if Capcom of America has plans to release this title over here, as Vampire Chronicle is still sitting on its lovely, lovely rear in Japan. Let us all join hands and pray to Shen Long.

Some of the best players in the country will be fighting for the US: Alex Valle, John Choi, Mike Watson, Hsien Chang, Ricky Ortiz, and Seth Killian. The Japan team features a wrecking crew of big name players, including (among many others): Daigo "The Beast" Umehara, GQ Sodom, White, and LiquidMetal. Read more at Shoryuken.com.
Street Fighter at ArcadeFlyers iwillswallowyoursoul posted a neat site on the forums called ArcadeFlyers. They have many posters and advertisements for arcade games, including a fine selection of Street Fighter titles. Last time I checked the IP address didn't register, but that may be a temporary problem.
King of Fighters will live on... From The Magicbox: A newly formed company called BrezzaSoft Corporation announced the development of the next The King of Fighters arcade title in Japan. Brezza Soft is currently looking for developers for their new project. It seems like this is the new company formed by ex-SNK developers (and perhaps funded by Capcom), and they have acquired the rights of KOF from SNK. This will make many SNK fans happy, who feared their favourite fighters were lost when SNK decided to tone down its operations. It was previously rumoured that Capcom would produce future SNK fighters, but this proves to be a new twist. | ![]() |
