Introduction | Religious festivals | Family festivals | National and cultural festivals | All kinds of festivals and celebrations

Introduction

Finding out about Celebrations around the World helps you to understand the world you're part of. This Hotlist explores celebrations on the Indian sub-continent - in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.  You can find out about religious and national celebrations, family festivals and more.  Enjoy!

Task

Decide on your topic question, or use the one your teacher has given you.

Decide whether you are going to record the information you find using paper and pencil, or using the word processor on the computer.

Scroll through the hotlist below and decide which sites would be most useful to you.

Browse through a few of them before you decide which ones are the best.

Choose a site, browse through it carefully and  record useful information using key words.  Do not copy whole sentences or print out heaps of pages!

Record your information neatly so that you or anyone else can read it.  Use a note-taking sheet or template if you have one.

If you find a site with information you need, make sure you record the URL so that you can find it again if you need to.  You should also include all the website addresses you've used in any project work you do about this topic.
