Chapter 1- Shot
“Not so fast me heartie,” I heard from behind me. My blood ran cold. I turned my head and saw the smug face of a pirate. I shivered, I ran. *BANG*. I fell, as blood dripped onto the cold frosty ground. The pain wasn’t there, but the shock froze me. They tied my hands that lost feeling, and dragged me to their ship. How could this be happening to me? The sound tore through my mind. *BANG*. I was thrown into a musty room. My mind was swept away into darkness.

I woke with pain rushing through my limbs. I looked around as memories flooded my mind. The room smelt salty and bitter. I sat up, and my head flushed with dizziness. It wasn’t all just a nightmare. I was frightened (As most normal people would be.). I knocked on a wooden wall, not knowing what else to do. There was a harsh voice, “Shuddap!”
“He’s awake!”
“Now what?”
“Take him outta there ya numbskulls!”

Chapter 2- Agreed!
I sat there listening to their pointless chatter, waiting for something to happen. Suddenly the door was kicked open dramatically like how you see in the movies. Obviously, he was showing off. Bragger. Well, anyway, they hauled me out, and the crewmembers inspected me from head to toe, as if I was an alien from an unknown universe. There was more pointless talking, which seemed rather amusing somehow. “Is he of use?”
“Monkey!”
“Shuddap!”
“Should he walk the plank?”
“Banana!”
“Uggh…”
“I agree with the walk the plank idea!”
“Doughnuts?”
“They’re a bunch of idiots…” I whispered to who I thought was the Captain.
“Yes, but they’re my idiots…” He replied. The chat went on.
“He could be of use. Look at them muscles!”
“Buns!”
“He could dig up our treasure!”
“Agreed!” They all shouted in unison (except for a fat person).
“Sausages?”

Chapter 3- A Space to Call My Own
I found it hard to suppress my smile. It happened all so quickly. I was now officially a digger. So in other words I’m meant to dig a big hole to find someone else’s treasure and get stuck in the hole because it’s too big to climb out of. They flung me back into the room, and left to attend to their appointed jobs. I grew fond of my space. I grew hungry and thirsty. But before I knew it, the sea had rocked me to sleep. I had grown fond of my space. It was a space to call my own. Sounds weird, huh? I’m pretty confused with my writing too. Meh. I didn’t really like the ropes that bound my hands together though. I’m itchy… :’(

Chapter 4- A New Taste
I soon woke from my slumber. My tongue and throat urged me to have a drink. I sat there waiting… Waiting…Waiting… Something happen already! Finally some different guy kicked the door, trying to show off like the other guy from before. But it was the captain who hauled me out again. So annoying! So he introduced himself badly.
“Arr… I za the captain of za seven seas! And of course this ship! Har har har!! Kiss me beard!”
“I’m thirsty for a drink not an introduction!” They just gaped at the word introduction.
“I just want a drink.”
“This is za zea! You’re like za zlave of this crew, so you will drink your own piss!”
They undid the ropes on my wrists, and flung me back in the room with a wooden cup. I think I’m meant to be a ball or something. Anyway, I still was desperate to have a drink, so I tried it out. Desperate people do desperate things… The smell of urine near the nose was something quite nice! Of course it’s not nice! I was being sarcastic! But I waited for it to cool, and gulped it down. Yuck. But after doing it a few times, it wasn’t so bad. Finding it hard to believe, huh?

Chapter 5- Land
Sleeping with no dream, I woke from a sudden wave hitting the boat. I was thirsty, and that meant bad things. I grabbed my wooden cup, and did my stuff. I watched the steam that rose from the cup, and sipped my inexhaustible supply of liquid. In case you’re wondering, I only eat the stale bread crusts that the crew throws to me once everyday.
“Land in sight!” shouted one of those scumbags.
Yay! I thought sarcastically. I’m going to dig a hole.

Chapter 6- Treasure?
I was totally wrong with the last word I said. I was forced to dig 43 pointless holes. Why, you may ask? Because they didn’t have a map!
My bones ached so much that they… ached. We set up camp after wasting all my valuable time, which I could have used for drinking my yellow water.

They slept under the stars loudly, with all their snoring noises. Two people watched me, to make sure I didn’t run away. So I lied down on the floor, and started to make fake snoring sounds. The two who watched me were convinced, and started to sleep too. I sat up slowly after awhile, to look for some decent food and water. It was reasonably bright, so I could see my way round. I found an old tree growing small apples. They were quite red, so I ate some, and put some in my pocket. After a few minutes I spotted a lake of clean water. It sparkled in the moonlight. So I gulped down as much as I could, the water tasted so rich after having to drink urine.

And to my surprise, there was something brown in the water! So I rolled up my sleeves, and shoved my hands in the water. The object was hard, and heavy. So I lugged it out, and saw the wooden image of what I believe was a treasure chest! I broke it open and saw a tiny piece of garnet, on top of a golden crown, jewels, and lots of gold. Light radiated out of it. The light was so bright, it was almost blinding. I saw a little piece of paper, and read it.

“Dangerous pirate, so brave and bold,
You have now found my gold.
What will you do with it?
Will you share it?
The future of the wealth lies in your hands,
Choose the wrong path and it will turn to sand.
You have three days from man’s first touch,
To give the treasure to a poor man of such”

I dragged it back to the tent, thinking, sharing would be the best move. Because it would be a waste if it turned to sand. I slept till morning, waking from shouts of happiness; I stood, and walked straight up to the captain.

Chapter 7-Stubborn
I said to him,” Now you’ve got the treasure, I think you had better share it with the poor.”
He replied in a really up-myself voice. “Why should I? I found it!”
“Wrong! I found it!”
“You lie!”
“I found it while you bums were asleep! I can prove it!”
“How then?”
“Look inside. There will be a piece of paper. I can’t remember what it says but one of the lines goes like this; Choose the wrong path and it will turn to sand.”
“Turn to sand? Ha! The very idea of it! Ha ha ha ha! Makes my sides split!”
I walked off back to the place of where I was before, and watched all the other crews try on the crown, bangles and other things. After awhile, I walked to the chest and pulled the parchment out for all to see. But they couldn’t read. So I read it out for them, and they all laughed at me. I gave up, and soon we were making our way back to the ship.

I walked to my room, and slammed the door behind me, reciting the second to last line. “You have three days from man’s first touch.” Just three days…

Chapter 8-Twas True
I nibbled at my apples, savoring the taste. The captain checked on his gold. I knew this because of his remarks about his riches. By now, only two days were left. I just listened all day. It was an uneventful day. Time went by slowly. I fell asleep hoping time would fall faster. I slept well without so much of a pain in my stomach.

By the time I woke up, it was a new day. I was let out by another show off person. The same kicky thing routine was getting annoying. They let me explore the ship. By now, they had a lot more trust in me. So I went through all the cabins and rooms. Time slipped away, till it was night and I was sent back. I fell asleep, dreaming of the sand that would pour out of the chest the next day.

Again I woke by a shout. “Where is all the treasure? What is the sand doing in here?” There was a moment of silence,” Bring out the prisoner…” His voice was rough and filled with anger. I was dragged out, though they didn’t really need to. I would’ve happily skipped all the way to him.
“Where is the gold?!”
“ I had read the words out loud. But you did not listen. So your precious treasure has now been turned to sand.”
“I know what you did! You took the treasure and stuffed in sand!”
“I could not hold that amount of sand! I don’t have any treasure, nor do I want it!”
“No more arguing! You will jump the plank!”

I was sent to the diving board, with the whole crew watching me closely. I jumped off in a diving position, so the jump wouldn’t be so painful. I floated to the top, and heard them chatting. I just floated… Then they fished me out, not wanting to lose their treasure digger. Aren’t I special?

Chapter 9-Transformation
Two weeks past. They left the box of sand in my room. I sat there hungry. I had run out of apples to eat three days ago. I looked at the box of sand again. I stared at it for a few seconds, and it formed back into gold! I gasped in shock, but I kept it secret. I flung my jacket over it, not daring to touch the gold. I wished I had food though. I lifted the jacket and peered inside, and it wasn’t gold anymore. It was food. I ate a steak but nothing else. I was content. It went back into sand, but in another two weeks, it turned to gold again.

This time I left it alone. *CRSSH* we had hit land.

Chapter 10-A Tale to Tell
I kicked the door open myself before anyone else could, and found myself looking at London. My home. The pirates unexpectedly let me off the ship. I dragged the box of ‘sand’ *wink* off as well. I watched the pirates’ sail of into the distance. I immediately started throwing the treasure all over the streets. This is the story I tell, my adventure to teach the consequences of greed.
