Have refreshed my relationship with God lately this week and things have changed so much! Things were getting complicated and pretty much dead - and I felt like I had lots of things missing within me...an emptiness if you know what I mean. I needed it filled up and I missed God being in my life.
So I decided to pray and take as much time needed to say and express everything to Him. I wanted things to be back like how it used to be or even better. I wanted Him to be part of my life again, and to be in charge. I wanted to be close to Him everyday. And yeah it's amazing! Somehow when you decide to put your life in God's hands and trust Him in everything, you just change. And situations in everyday life just becomes that much brighter. I don't find myself worrying or being too self-conscious as I used to be. And you begin to realise so many more opportunities to help others or be there for them. At the moment, most of my days are busy and filled with activities. I am kept working and relating to others, and yet still have the energy to enjoy it all! And sometimes things just happen and God puts the right words in your mouth to speak at the right time, or lets you do the right thing that you wouldn't expect that you'd do yourself. This reminds me about that part in the Bible where it mentioned that God is like the vine and we are the branches. Just as without the vine, the tree cannot bear fruit - it is the same that without God, we cannot do anything amazing or out of this world!
With God, everything is possible. He makes the impossible possible. And that's amazing because no matter how deep you fall, He is able to pick you back up when you call to Him. If you are troubled, He lets you see clearly. If it's complicated, He makes it simple. I reckon God meant for things to be simple, but we complicate things for ourselves.

Woke up at 7am today and almost jumped out of bed to switch off the alarm clock - was kinda sleepy still and stumbled. But anyway, this morning I went out to Athena's flat so that we could be picked up by the O'Brien Shuttle for a free tour round dunners! It was free cuz the shuttles had made a mistake by losing Athena's luggage before (luckily it was found with everything in it!).
We went off for about 4 hours - to see the albatrosses, the pioneer memorial thingi - good view of the city from there, and to Larnach Castle. The driver - John, payed for our trip up to Larnach Castle too! So Athena and I feel kinda obliged... Anyway, what a day. It's this trip that I also found out that the ball I went to 2 years ago was at Glenfallock Gardens. Apparently, that's a popular place to get married. Didn't know of the name cuz it was a mystery bus trip up for the ball at night, and we had no idea where they took us. Pretty sure my friend did tell me the name of the place later, but I guess I couldn't catch the name ^^"
Came back and Athena, Emily and I went out for a Japanese lunch. Then we had workshops at 2pm. We sure had a full day!

It's great to be back home for the hols :-) Been looking after my dog - she's 6 years old now, but still acts like a pup. Airedales are like that, which is why they are always so fun to be around :-D Have been watching anime too - Eureka Seven...and realized that my hair style was more or less the same as Eureka's!...except mine's not blue anymore.
Went to watch a production later at 7. It's from the school of my church friends. They are all very talented! Lots of singing, dancing, acting. We had a few laughs, and yeah, the actors and actresses are very brave to kiss on stage! A quote that got stuck in my head: "You like? You buy!" Back home, my bro and I found awesome wallpaper of Kingdom Hearts 2 ^^ The characters look so cool! Just that they have really big feet somehow :-P |

Ever dreamed that you were dreaming? It's kinda odd how I thought I woke up from a dream to switch off the alarm clock...and then waking up again to the real alarm! woah.. it sure messed me up -_-

It's a beautiful warm and sunny morning and perfect for outdoor soccer practice :-D That's great especially for one of our classmates who put so much effort into organising our teams and practices within our school. About 11 of us turned up, and we had a few practice drills before playing a half hour friendly game. Yup, friendly game...let's keep it friendly, and keep that ball out of your face please! Oops, too late >< whack! My face gets hit...Oh well, not much damage there - just shock. Soccer sure takes up a lot of energy, and accidents are bound to happen. A good game ends with some of us having bruises, but the best part about it is that we all had fun, and we're gonna meet again next week.
Back at the flat it's time to get ready for another game - indoors... Yup! It's a singstar and DDR dance competition against one of the other flats. We had fun, encouraged each other, and cheered real loud! Our flat including Tammy wins singstar, which means the other flat prepares dinner for everyone :-P while we make desserts.
We stayed up late - playing card games...

My flatmates gave me a surprise birthday party tonight :-D I felt so special! Amelia took me out to the Warehouse while everyone else were preparing for the party, so that when i came back with Amelia, the whole flat was really dark and then "SURPRISE!!". There were balloons on the walls, and a happy birthday banner. Cake, lots of good food and lots of left overs. Cool. We made banana milkshake, wore masks, and took funny photos. They gave me a popcorn machine with kernels for a pressie along with flowers :-)
So we had a really late night, and got high without any alcohol. Went to a friend's flat and played their playstation there - kinda intrusive actually...but oh well. We sang songs when we came back and I finished writing my lab report just a moment ago. What a late night! Going out for ice skating tomorrow morning too :-D

Weekend is coming soon so yeah!
Been doing some grocery shopping today. and we had marilyn's and amelia's friends over. they are actually flatting in the same row of flats. so when i came back from gym at 6pm, i saw marilyn and fen cooking lots! glad that i could help out to cook some stir fry beef without looking at the recipe book :-) we played on the dance mat that marilyn brought. the guys were actually really good. we were so surprised and now we are having second thoughts on challenging them to a dance competition on the thing! but it was all fun :-) it was late into the night - 9pm. but i started to bake chocolate sauce pudding - using one of the packs i got from home cuz our oven broke down over at chch. realised that the expiry date was passed. oops! should've baked it earlier! oh well, i baked it anyway and had a small bowl of it tonight. it actually tasted yummy :-P didn't share any with flatmates cuz i dunno if it's dangerous! if nothing happens, i'll let them try some if they dare.
well, that's it really for today. the fun stuff i mean. apart from
that, i had 4 hours of lectures in a row. and then a 3
hour tutorial in the afternoon - it was interesting :-) oh yeah, i managed to cook pasta with sauce in
the 1 hour break for lunch - amazing!

Back to uni since last week, and been settling in to my new flat - with 4 other flatmates. Uni life is back! It's good to see uni friends again, and visiting them :-)
This year is gonna be another hard working one. First time in a flat too - so that's something. Stir fry is on the menu almost every night so far (apart from microwave pasta ^^").

Bro and I got picked up to church early by the minister. We needed to be there early cuz it's our turn to help operate the sounds system, plus it's gonna be a baptism so a little extra had to be set up. It's the first time that mum ever offered coke drinks to take with us for breakfast! haha! I think she noticed we needed some boosting.
Doing the sounds beats sitting on the pews in church for a change - we get something to do ^^ For example, finding a pair of extra large black rimmed glasses on the operating system, putting them on, then make funny faces. And trying to hold your laughter, while someone else on stage catches you and she starts laughing too - ops.

The day starts off with sunshine - which is awesome since it's been raining for the past few days. I woke up late in the morning, and was reminded that it is a day out to go surfing! I went with family, and my brother's friend tags along. Strong waves, wind, and a whole lot of other surfers! Bro took to surfing quickly, and we were catching waves (or trying to) one after the other. All is good and great fun.
Well...until my toe gets bitten by some crab in the water - ouch. Oh well - it happens. Time goes by quickly when you're enjoying yourself, and soon it is 5pm and time to head back home. We all have big appetites for a big dinner out. And tonight's dinner is teppanyaki :-D and if you order fried rice, the cook would serve fried egg with it. Way of serving? He'd chuck a small piece of egg into your mouth! haha - open wide! First throw, and it landed on my eye - ops. Second try, and in it goes - success :-P |
