"So what exactly happened?" Scott asked with a hint of annoyance in his voice. Alex and Logan had been ten minutes late and most of the X-men chuckled when her and Logan entered the room looking a little disheveled.
"Marrow and I went in the front door of the bunker and found ourselves inside a long, dark hallway. My vision switched to infrared and I led the way down the hallway. The floor suddenly dropped out from under me and I found myself sitting in a small cell. My powers were suppressed and I couldn't escape. Eventually Sinister showed his face and told me that I was going to be his guest for a period of time. Something came up and he had to leave. Two days later there was a massive thunderstorm and I think lightening must have hit the generator and the power went out. My powers came back and I promptly escaped after destroying the lab. I slowly made my way across the outback and eventually arrived in Sydney. From there I procured a flight to LA and eventually made my way back to the mansion."
"How did you procure a flight to LA without money or an ID? How did you make your way across the country?"
"Well to put it simply my body produced pheromones and with those I persuaded men to do what I wanted. It wasn't difficult to get someone to buy me a ticket to the United States and to acquire fake ids for me. From Los Angles I was able to hitch hike across the country, once again using the pheromones to persuade the men that they wanted to give me a lift to where I wanted to go. They only problem I had was trying to keep their hands off of me," Alex said as she watched Logan's reaction to her words. She watched a dark cloud pass over his face and knew that this was something that they were going to argue about later on.
"Why didn't you just call us?"
"Because we were dealing with Sinister. I didn't know what he was planning to do to me and to all of you. I didn't know what to expect when I arrived here and I didn't want to let anyone else know that I had escaped. What if I would have called here and the clone would have answered the phone? She probably would have contacted Sinister and then who knows what he would have sent after me."
"I didn't think of it that way."
"Are we done here? I would just like to get settled."
"I guess, unless anyone else has anything else to ask?"
Scott said looking around the table at all the faces. Most shook their heads no.

Alex exited the room and headed back upstairs to Logan's room. She was tired and not feeling very well. Logan quietly followed her and she knew this was not going to be pretty.
She entered the room and turned to face the door. Logan came in and stood there with his arms folded across his chest, staring at her.
"What?" she asked him, figuring that they might as well get this started so that they can get it over with.
"So is that what you did to me and to the X-men? Used your pheromones to get us to take you in and then weasel your way into my bed?"
"WHAT? How DARE you accuse me of such a thing!"
Alex practically screamed at him. She stood there staring at him with her mouth hanging open. She couldn't believe the direction this conversation was taking.
"Did you have fun playing with all your men as you made your way back here?"
"I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer,"
she said coolly. She really didn't feel like arguing about such an insane topic. She brushed past him, tore open the door and headed down the hall to her room. She slammed the door when she entered the room and then doubled over with pain in her abdomen.
Rogue heard Alex's door slam and knew something must be really wrong. Alex hardly ever lost her temper, and when she did she never went as far as slamming doors.
Rogue knocked on the door and when there was no answer she opened the door. Rogue was shocked to see Alex lying on the floor clutching her stomach. Rogue knew she shouldn't be picking heavy objects up, but she picked up Alex and flew her down to the medlab.

An hour later the pain was gone and Alex was being confined to the medlab by Hank. Rogue left to go take care of some errands, leaving Alex alone to think about what had happened between her and Logan. She was lost in thought when Hank had appeared beside her bed.
"Well?" she asked looking at him.
"Well there are two things I need to talk to you about. First is something I found when running some tests on your DNA. It seems that you could be related to someone here in the mansion."
"Yes I know Hank. Where I come from I am the daughter of Charles Xavier. That is what you found, right?"
"Yes."
"Did you mention this to anyone?"
"Only the Professor."
"Thank you."

Hank looked at her with a puzzled look on his face.
"It's not that I want to keep secrets from the rest of the team, it's just that the man who was my father is dead and I don't need a ton of questions about it. I put all that stuff behind me and don't want to drag the skeletons out of the closet."
"This will be held in confidence and no one else shall know unless you tell them."
"Thank you, Hank. How did you know to run the test comparing my DNA to the Professor's?"
"Logan overheard you say Xavier when you whispered it in the danger room."
"Oh I see. Now what was the second thing you had to tell me?"

Logan felt miserable due to the things that he said to Alex. He shouldn't have accused her of things that deep down he knew she didn't do. He figured he should find her and apologize for the things that he said. Perhaps he was a little jealous and that's what prompted the whole argument. He sighed heavily and went looking for Alex so he could apologize.
He couldn't find her in the usual places. He found Rogue in the kitchen making some lunch.
"Have you seen Alex?"
"She's down in the medlab?"
"Something wrong?"
"Ah found her lying on the floor in her room. She was doubled ovah in pain. Probably from the argument you two had."
"You know about that?"
"Sugah, it had to be an argument by the way she slammed the door to her room."
"Yeah I said some pretty bad things. I just want to apologize to her."
"Ah believe she's still down there."
"Thanks,"
he said as he walked out of the kitchen. He walked slowly down to the medlab. He stopped in the doorway when he heard Alex and Hank talking quite loudly.
"But Hank I can't be pregnant. It's impossible!"
"Impossible or not my dear you are about a month pregnant."
"But Hank!"
"You are."
"But Hank!"
"Will you please tell me why you believe that's impossible for you to be pregnant?"
"But Hank…!"
"My dear. We can't proceed to talk about this if all you're going to say is 'But Hank',"
he said giving her a grin.
"Hank I can't be pregnant because all my eggs were removed when I was sixteen. The government thought my DNA was too valuable to be lost or stolen. So now do you see why it's impossible for me to be pregnant?"
Hank nodded. "What about your healing powers? Can you regenerate things?"
"Only whole organs, and not major ones. I can't regenerate a heart or brain or liver, but others may be possible. By the Great Mother!"
Alex exclaimed.
"What?"
Alex started to laugh.
"What do you find so amusing?"
"Mystique. When she shot me she must have hit my ovaries. They could have regenerated eggs and all."
"Am I right in assuming that Logan is the father?"
"Yes. Contrary to his thoughts, he's the only man I've ever been with,"
Alex sighed knowing what argument is going to come up when she tells Logan of his impending fatherhood. "Is that all Hank?"
"Yes. I want you to take it easy. High levels of stress are not good for you or for your baby."
"Yes sir."
"Now, I want to see you back in here in a few weeks for an ultrasound."
"Yes sir."

Logan entered the room and Hank made some excuse to leave the room. Alex didn't say anything to him, but watched him approach the bed and sit on the edge of the bed.
"Darlin' I'm sorry for those things that I said earlier. I had no right to accuse you of doing those things."
"Apology accepted."

Logan kissed her on the forehead and sat down in the chair next to the bed. "Why are you in here? Rogue said she had to carry you in here."
Alex knew this wasn't the right time to tell him of her pregnancy. She had to accept it first before she could tell Logan. "I had doubled over with pain in my abdomen."
"Does Hank know what caused it?"
"I don't know. He's going to keep an eye on it over the next couple of days."
She hated lying to him, but she thought it was the best course of action to take right now.
"How are you feeling now?"
"I feel better. The pain is gone and Hank as given me the okay to leave the medlab. Although he is going to keep me off of active duty for awhile."

"How about something to eat? I can make us some lunch and then we can head into the city and do some shopping."
"Lunch sounds good, but I don't think I'm up for any shopping right now."
"Whatever you want is what we'll do,"
he said offering her a hand to help her get out of the bed.
"Thanks," she said kissing him on the cheek.
They started to make their way to the kitchen when they ran into the Professor in the hallway.
"Alex could I please see you in my office right after lunch?"
"Yes sir."

Alex and Logan proceeded to make their way to the kitchen, where Logan made lunch for the two of them.

A half hour later Alex headed toward the Professor's office. She knew what the topic of conversation was going to be. She stopped in front of the doors to the Professor's office and took a deep breath. She let it out slowly and knocked on the door.
"Come in Alex."
"You wanted to see me sir?"
"Yes. Please sit down,"
he said motioning to an empty chair in front of his desk.
Alex took the offered chair and sat there waiting for the Professor to start the conversation.
"Hank has brought me some interesting news," he said looking right at Alex.
"Yes sir I know. He told me that he informed you of his findings."
"How do you think we should proceed?"
"I do not know."
"I know that you are not a child of mine in this world, but genetically you are my daughter and perhaps we could build on that."
"To be honest sir, right now I do not want a father/daughter relationship with you. My father died when I was five years old and I dealt with that when it happened. I care not to drag old skeletons and old feelings out in to the open."
"I understand. Perhaps we could just start with just being friends? I've only had one child in this existence and I was never a part of his life, even in the slightest. I would like to be a part of your life, even if you are only genetically related to me."
"I understand sir. Friendship sounds fine. I'm sorry about your son sir. I never got to know his counterpart in my world either."
"What should we tell the rest of the X-men?"

"Sir, I would prefer not to tell them. Like I said, I do not want to drag old skeletons out of the closet and telling them that I am your daughter, at least genetically, would open doors I thought I shut a long time ago."
"Perhaps you will change your mind someday?"
"Perhaps. It's not that I want to keep secrets, but it's just that I believe that they do not have to know this information. It has no relevance to the team functioning as a whole or my performance on the team."
"I understand Alex. Would you do me the favor of telling me your full name?"
"Of course sir. My given name is Alexandra Catherine Elizabeth Xavier. My father named me after great rulers in history. He believed that I needed to be as strong as they were in order to survive."
"Thank you Alex. I appreciate your honesty in all of this."
"You're welcome sir."
"One more thing before you go. Hank has informed me that he has removed you from active duty indefinitely. Could you tell me the reason for this?"

Alex hesitated a moment before she answered. "Yes sir. Hank has discovered that I am a few weeks pregnant."
"I see. Am I correct in assuming that Logan is the father of this child?"
"Yes sir."
"Have you told him yet?"
"No sir."
"Are you planning to tell him?"
"Yes sir. I'm still trying to accept the fact myself. Once I do that I will inform him of his impending fatherhood."
"Very well. I have nothing else I would like to discuss. Is there anything you would like to talk about?"

"No sir. May I go now?"
"Of course Alex. And please call me Charles."
"Yes sir,"
Alex said as she left the room.
