Two weeks had passed and Alex still hadn't told Logan of her pregnancy. Alex and Logan had been walking on eggshells around each other for the whole two weeks. The rest of the mansion's inhabitants knew something wasn't right between the two, but no one dared to bring up the subject with Alex or Logan.
Alex spent most of the two weeks thinking about how she was going to tell Logan that she was pregnant with his child. She knew he probably wouldn't have a favorable reaction to the news and they would probably end up arguing about it.
Alex sighed. She sat curled up in the chair in Logan's room reading a book. Meph was curled up and sleeping in her lap. Alex grabbed one of the saltine crackers that sat on a nearby table. It was the only thing that helped to keep her from getting sick in the morning. She ate another cracker and felt her stomach doing a flip-flop. She jumped up, sending Meph leaping to the floor, and ran into the bathroom. She came out of the bathroom just in time to see Logan entering the room. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and sat down in the chair. He didn't say a word to her and went to the closet and started searching for something. Alex felt another heave of her stomach and went running for the bathroom again.
She came out and found Logan sitting in the chair. "You okay?" he asked.
"Yes. Probably something I ate."
"Again? This has been going on for a week or two."

Alex just shrugged her shoulders.
Logan was tired of playing this game with her. He knew she was pregnant, but was waiting for her to tell him. "So how long were you going to go before telling me?"
"Tell you what?"
Alex asked playing innocent. She had a really bad feeling that he knew that she was pregnant.
"When were you going to tell me that you're pregnant? Or did you decide that you weren't going to tell me?"
"Logan I was going to tell you. I had to come to grips with the fact before I could even think about telling you."
"I thought you said you couldn't get pregnant."
"I thought it was impossible for me to get pregnant."
"Then what the hell happened?"
he asked her, knowing full well the answer. He wanted to see if she would tell him the truth about everything.
"I don't know. My best guess is that when Mystique shot me, she hit both of my ovaries and they regenerated with new eggs."
"I see."
"How did you find out?"
"I overheard you and Hank talking in the medlab when you found out. I was almost in the doorway when I heard Hank tell you."
"Oh. Logan I was going to tell you, honest. It's just that all of this is hard for me to process. It was the last thing in the world I expected."

Logan was silent for a few moments knowing that his next question would be like a match in a room full of dynamite. "Is it mine?"
Alex stared at him in disbelief. They were heading down that road again. "How could you ask me that? Of course it is yours."
"Well I thought I would ask. After all, you did have all those guys on your way back here."
"How dare you imply that this child is not yours? You are the only man I've ever slept with and now I'm starting to regret that!"
Alex yelled and then stormed out of the room. She passed a few curious X-men, who had stuck their heads out of their doors, as she walked down the hall. Their argument had been loud enough to wake some of the other residents of the mansion.
Logan threw some clothes into a duffel bag and was soon on his way.

Alex went down to her room, slammed the door and lay on the bed. She lay there staring up at the ceiling as the tears streamed down her face. She heard a light knock on the door.
"Who is it?"
"It's Storm. May I come in?"
"Sure,"
Alex said wiping the tears away and sitting up on the bed.
Storm walked in and stood before Alex.
"What's wrong?"
"Just an argument with Logan."
"I see. Would you like to talk about it?"
"No Storm. Not just yet."
"Well if you ever want to talk I am here. The reason why I came to see you is to ask you if you had any idea when you would be returning to active duty."
"Probably not for a while. Say about 8 or 9 months."
"Wh…"
Storm started to ask and then she knew the answer. "You too?" she asked.
Alex nodded.
"The Goddess seems to be blessing quite a few people lately. Is that what you and Logan were arguing about?"
Alex nodded. "Oh no!" Alex exclaimed.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing I think, but I think I know what she meant now!"
Alex said getting up off of the bed and heading for the door.
"Who meant what?" Storm said following Alex out of the room.
"Just come with me. I need to see Hank."
Alex ran down to the medlab with Storm not far behind her.
"Hank!" Alex exclaimed as she entered the lab.
"Alex?"
"Hank do you think you can do an ultrasound now?"
"It might be a little too early, but we can try. Why? Is there something wrong?"
"I don't think so, but something Storm said made me think of something."

Hank had Alex lay on an examining table and set up the equipment. Hank moved the imager around on Alex's abdomen and eventually found the right spot. Hank looked closely at the monitor, as did Storm and Alex. Hank moved it around a few times and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
"I don't see anything out of the ordinary."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes Alex."
"Can you double check?"
"Sure."
Hank made a few more passes around Alex's abdomen. "I don't see…wait a minute. What is this?"
"What is it Hank?"
Storm asked trying to figure out what Hank was looking at on the monitor.
"It seems like Alex is expecting twins."
"I knew it,"
Alex said lying back on the table.
"Alex can I ask you how did you know you were going to have twins?"
"Well when I heard Storm mention the Goddess' blessing I recalled what that fortune teller said."
"Well you truly are blessed by the Goddess."
"I don't know if Logan would think that way,"
Alex said suddenly becoming very somber at the thought of telling Logan she was carrying twins.
Alex thanked Hank and her and Storm walked back up to Alex's room.
"Storm please don't say a word of my pregnancy to anyone else. This is difficult as it is without everyone else knowing."
"I won't, I promise. Are you going to be okay?"
"I will be fine. I always survive."

The next four days were torture for Alex. She desperately wanted to talk to Logan and get things straightened out between them. She hated it when they weren't talking, and not having him here in the mansion made it worse. She had to get this straightened out as soon as possible. She also had to tell him that they were going to have twins. She asked the other X-men if they knew where Logan went and none save for Scott knew where he was. Of course getting Scott to tell her where Logan went wasn't as easy as she thought it was going to be. She ambushed him quite a few times a day and would ask him every time she got the chance. She hoped that he would get tired of her asking him where Logan was and would tell her. He was tougher than she thought.
One morning found Alex and Scott in the control room together analyzing the tape from the morning's workout. Alex decided that she had played around enough and it was time to get some answers. Alex took a deep breath and released it slowly. She could feel her body responding to the need. Within a short time her body was producing pheromones and it would only be a few minutes before she had the answer she was looking for.
"Perhaps if…" Scott stopped in mid-sentence trying to regain his train of thought.
"Something wrong Scott?" Alex asked looking innocently at him.
"Huh? Oh. I can't seem to remember what I was saying."
"I don't know,"
Alex said sweetly with a slight smile.
Scott gave her a slight smile and shook his head in an effort to clear his thoughts.
"So what do you think about pairing up…" he trailed off and found himself staring into Alex's eyes.
Alex smiled at him and put a hand on his cheek. She began to slowly walk around him, but didn't take her hand off of his cheek.
"What were you going to say Scott?" she whispered into his ear.
"I don't know. Probably wasn't that important."
"Probably not,"
she purred as she slowly made her way around the back of him. "So Scott where did Logan go?" she purred into his ear.
"I really shouldn't tell you," he said trying to keep himself calm.
"Now Scott. We both know that I really need to talk to Logan. How can I do that if you won't tell me where he is?"
Scott gulped. "I don't know…."
Alex had now made her way all the way around Scott and was standing directly in front of him. "Scott you know you want to tell me," she whispered in his ear.
"Umm…" was all that he could get out.
Alex knew he was very close to the breaking point. She nibbled his earlobe and gently blew in his ear. "Where did Logan go Scott?" she purred into his ear.
"He went to his cabin."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes,"
Scott said, as it sounded like he tried to hold his breath.
"Thank you very much Scott. I will always remember this," Alex whispered in his ear.
Alex was starting to pull away when Scott grabbed her shoulders. He suddenly kissed Alex passionately. Of course Jean just happened to walk in the room at the same time Scott kissed Alex.
"Scott!" she yelled in disbelief.
Scott broke the kiss and looked at Jean. "Jean?" he said looking somewhat confused.
"Yes. Jean your WIFE," she said as her voice went up a few octaves.
Alex pulled away from Scott and walked over to Jean. "Jean listen to me," Alex said as she approached Jean.
"I really have nothing to say to you right now," Jean said between clenched teeth.
"Jean listen to me. It's not Scott's fault. I had to find out where Logan went, so I used my pheromones on him. It's not his fault and I had to do what I could to get him to tell me where Logan went. Okay?"
Jean just looked at her and then nodded slowly.
"Okay?"
Jean nodded again a little more this time.
"Now, take him home and have some fun. It will take a while for his thoughts to clear up," Alex whispered to Jean and gave her a wicked looking grin.
Jean's eye gleamed and suddenly Alex felt a little guilty. She probably won't be on Scott's list of favorite people in the near future. Alex left the room and ran for the hangar bay.
