THINGS TO BUY!

Well here's a list of things I'd love to get before the new baby comes. Some people have been asking me what I need or what I plan to get for the baby so I thought I'd make a list for all to see!

THINGS WE STILL NEED TO GET:

STROLLER: I've decided against a double stroller. It will be winter when the baby is born so I doubt we would use the stroller all that much! Maybe when Tyler and the baby are older next summer we will get one but until then I don't think we need one! Especially with this awesome car seat I bought (see below in things we already got)

NURSERY: I am decorating the nursery in moons, stars, bears and clouds! I need to get decorations for it. We painted it light blue and we painted a mural on the wall to match the blanket. (pictures comming soon) We found sheer white curtains embroidered with white stars for the window! Due to the risks of suffocation, the only baby bedding I plan to have is the fleece blanket that can be seen on the nursery page and a dust ruffle along the bottom. I also hope to get a few shelves for the room!

CARSEAT COVER: I realized that no covers out there would work with this car seat I got.. so I decided to try and make my own... comming along pretty good so far...not professional but functional is my motto! ;o) I'll put pics up when I get it done!

ROCKER: I would also love a glider rocker for the nursery. Walmart has one for 80 dollars that comes with an ottoman so I may get that one, first I have to figure out if I have anywhere to put it!

THINGS WE ALREADY BOUGHT OR ARE GETTING SOON:

DRESSER: IT'S HERE!!! Looks great with the nursery furniture! Will post pics soon!

BABY BATHTUB: I got an insert for my baby bathtub so it would cradle the baby better, and now I don't have to buy a whole new baby bathtub!

DIAPERS: A few packages of newborn disposables for the first few weeks when I probally won't want to go up and down the stairs to do laundry, and I've been sewing away making cloth diapers for the baby! I've also bought a lot of cloth diapers which can be seen on the CLOTH DIAPER STASH PAGE.

DIAPER PAIL: I got the diaper pail from http://www.babiesunderwraps.com Affordable and big enough to accomodate all the cloth diapers!

CO SLEEPER/PLAYPEN: I got a bedside co sleeper (from Peg) It is a playpen that has a side that drops down and a bassinet inside so it can hook to the side of your bed. That way the baby can sleep next to you but not IN the bed with you. Since Doug rolled over on Tyler when he was a newborn I really don't want to risk that happening again but I know I will want the baby nearby. The co sleeper converts to a playpen after your done using it as a co sleeper! here is a picture of one:

INFANT CARSEAT: I have found the COOLEST infant car seat I've ever seen! Not only does it allow you to see the baby while driving (by looking in the rearveiw mirror) it also has a padded carrying strap... instead of a plastic handle that can be slung over your shoulder in order to carry! I had SUCH a hard time carrying Tyler in his carseat when he was little and also want to be able to hold Tyler's hand so this car seat will work out SO great fo us! Here is a picture of it:

SLING:I am getting a baby sling from Pam... This will hopefully allow me to cuddle the baby while it's sleeping or fussy but also allows me to use my hands to care for Tyler or clean the house. **A special thanks to PAM who is sending me her maya sling!**

NURSING PILLOW: I liked the look of the My Best Friend nursing pillow but have been told it is hard to use, so I got a boppy pillow from Peg! Tyler has fallen in love with it though and is constantly laying on it/with it! He loves it! Thanks again Peg!

SNAP N' GO: Also from Peg I got a snap n' go! It's the frame of a stroller with a handle, that an infant car seat just clicks right on to. Makes the infant carseat an instant stroller! Pretty neat! It missing the bars that convert it to be used with other carseats though so I have to see about getting some replacement bars for it so I can use it with the new carseat!
