| Character Profile: Orrock is the attentive Irish Midshipman aboard the Hotspur, who is more competent than Midshipman Hammond. He swiftly obeys orders, and asserts himself when needed, such as when he reminds Matthews that not all Irishman are disloyal to Britain. On a couple of occasions he is left with command of the ship. | Character Profile: Recruited by Bush as Coxswain of the Hotspur, Hornblower finds this Irish to-be-traitor rather talkative. Wolfe is a slippery opponent, and escapes at the end of Loyalty, only to come back more dangerous than ever in Duty. After a surpise strategic attack fought through snow, he literally lands at Hornblower's feet to face the prospect of matrydom.
