Speak proper English to me, would ya?

My English Canadian team leader (supervise) just had a baby girl two weeks ago. Having a
baby here is a big event. You have to look at endless photos for hours. But, we have never seen
any photos from him. When I asked him where the pictures were today, he said, " I used my
digital camera to take some pictures but I haven't develop them yet. "

Develop ?? On my mind, I thought -- Excuse me, sir, don't you upload your pictures from your
digital camera to your computer?

And he kept on talking about his new digital video camera. One of our French Canadian engineers overheard our conversation and told us his video camera experience.

" Blab blab blab ... it was an old video camera ... blab blab blab ... I am not a good animator ... blab blab blab ... " I thought he also used his video camera to make animation.
After I heard the whole conversation, for him, animator = hand-held video camera user.

Animator ?? Don't just translate French words directly into English, please. If "animator" is
indeed a French word, so use it with our French co-workers only.

Then, it was my English Canadian hubby (husband)'s turn. He is well-known by his
excellent verbal and written English skills at work. Tonight, he told me, " It should be
more big. "

More big ?? AH~~~~~~!! Hubby, it should be bigger, shouldn't it?

Guys, I am only an ESL (English as a Second Language) user,

speak proper English to me, would ya?

But, think about it, if people whose first language is English do not speak English properly, we will be able to have as many mistakes as we want while using English. It may not be a bad thing.
