Let's join the Terry Fox Run

When Terry Fox was a teenager, he lost his right leg to bone cancer. To help raiseing money for cancer research, he decided to run across Canada with his artificial leg.

Terry called this run "Marathon of Hope" and began his run on April 12, 1980 from the Atlantic coast. He ran an average of 42 km everyday for 143 days. Unfortunately, he never completed his marathon. When cancer finally reaching his lungs, Terry collapsed on a road near
Thunder Bay, Ontario. He passed away on June 28, 1981, just one month before his 23th birthday.

Even though Terry is dead, his courage makes Canadians and people all over the world keep on running for cancer research. During our annual Terry Fox Run, participants walk, run, bike, rollerblade or wheelchair through a 10-kilometre course. There are also a face-painting
area, a raffle for prizes and a barbecue for everyone to enjoy.
