CAVY SOUNDS |
Cavies make lots of interesting sounds. It's not always easy to tell what they mean though. So here's a list. |
Chattering teeth- a threat Cooing/purring- happiness, contentedness Short Coo- frightened, scared Loud, shrill squeaks- calling to another cavy or requesting food Lots of short squeaks- annoyed Cavy Body Language Butt wiggle- extreme contentment (usually accompanied with cooing) Touching noses/sniffing cheeks- learning another cavy's smell Leaping straight up into the air (popcorning)- very happy Slowly stepping into a new area, then darting back to a familiar one- a way cavies explore new areas |
