Greetings: Members of Local 343 – Alcan Unit

Our contract expires on May 17, 2003 and your elected negotiations committee is beginning to prepare for the task of renewing the collective agreement. This year we have developed a different method to determine where our member’s wishes are, when preparing and throughout the negotiations process.

Your negotiations committee relies on each and every member to help them determine the approach to take at the bargaining table. We therefore ask you to give us some feedback as to where our priorities are in this set of bargaining.

Please fill out the attached survey and return it to the locked box by the plant union office. The committee will calculate the results and use this as a guide for our proposals and for bargaining. We hope to begin the bargaining process in February this time and have an agreement signed by May 18, 2002

We can only bargain a good agreement if we have the solidarity and support of our members….SUPPORT YOUR BARGAINING COMMITTEE…your really supporting yourself!
