"Now we, we are the Supermen. But you, you are the Giants." - De Flores (speaking of the Cybermen).

THE STORY

The Doctor and Ace visit England in 1988, where three rival factions - the Cybermen , a group of Nazis from South America, led by De Flores and a 17th Century sorceress, the evil Lady Peinforte - are attempting to gain posssession of a statue made of living metal, validium, created by Rassilon to be the ultimate defence for Gallifrey. The statue was named Nemesis by Lady Peinforte when it crashed to Earth. In an unseen adventure the Doctor thwarted her plans to control the Nemesis, seperated into three parts, the statue, a bow and an arrow. The Time Lord blasted the Statue into space within a rocket-powered asteroid, causing it to take up an orbit in which it would pass close to the Earth every twenty-five years, instigating disasters and wars, such is the power of the Nemesis.

The Doctor succeeds in stealing the bow from the Nazis and reactivating the Nemesis. Lady Peinforte then attempts to blackmail him with the secret of his real identity, but fails and merges with the statue. The Doctor appears to concede defeat to the Cyber Leader, after it has disposed of De Flores. However, the statue destroys the Cyberfleet, acting on prior orders from the Doctor. Richard, Lady Peinforte's man-servent then kills the Cyber Leader with a gold arrow.
