A UNIVERSAL TAPESTRY 2

LOOSE THREADS

DOCTOR WHO ANTHOLOGY

TEN STORIES FROM THE UNIVERSES OF DOCTOR WHO

Guidelines:

The collection will include ten stories connected to the universe of Doctor Who, eight of these will feature one each of the Doctor’s existing incarnations and the two remaining tales require a special content, more of which is explained below. If you wish to submit a proposal please follow the guidelines given below. All submission outlines must reach me before 2nd May 2003 and all actual stories before August 1st 2003 as the collection is planned for publication in November 2003 to celebrate the programme’s 40th anniversary.

You may submit as many proposals, for as many different Doctors, as you wish, although it is unlikely that a single author will have more than three stories published.

The story should have a minimum length of around 5,000 words and a maximum of 7,500 words

Combined efforts are also accepted, and encouraged.

References to past events or characters should be accurate.

The use of a new enemies and/or places is as acceptable as using old, established enemies, and a balance will be maintained in the collection overall.

The two remaining stories in the collection will feature either a) a past companion or enemy without the direct presence of the Doctor or b) a special circumstance or narrative, for example two incarnations of the Doctor meeting. You are welcome to submit stories for these slots and innovative and offbeat ideas are encouraged.

The story should have a strong, credible plot, which makes sense and should tell the reader what is going on. Stories with historical settings should be accurate portrayals of the period(s).
