Otari Village Museum of history" Kyodokan"
There are nine corners for display in this
museum.
Corner 1. Dawn
Some materials when Dinosaurs were walking
are displayed.
For example, Fossil of Dinosaur's footprints,
Cubing Ryu's teeth , shells and plants.
Corner 2. Beginning
An excavated articles during the period and the Jhohmon period are displayed. Since Ancient times to the Medieval times Otari was located in the important route from Japan sea to inland. There are many documents which show them.
Corner 3. History
Because of the heavy snow, people could not
work outside in winter. So before the truism
was not so popular, many men in this village
work away from home to Southern towns for
making Japanese Sake. There are some materials and documents
about making sake.
Corner 4, Living Room
Irori ( a fire place ) was displayed in the style which was reappeared of the old days life.
Corner 5. Custom
Many instruments which were used for New Year's events and Festivals are displayed.
Corner 6. Craft
Otari's traditional ' Borrow-Ori"( textiles weaved by old cloth) and weaving
looms are displayed, If you want, you can
see weaving too.
Corner 7. Mountain Life
Some instruments which were used for the work at the mountain and living necessities are displayed.
Corner 8. Village Life
Daily necessities ( which were important for the people to keep their lives) are displayed.
Corner 9. Nature
This is a corner which introduce you the nature in Otari.
