Volcanoes erupt for many different reasons.  Some volcanoes erupt because rocks melting and forming magma. The magma fills up a chamber inside of the volcano.  After  the chamber are filled the magma bursts out of the volcano and  causes an eruption. A single volcano has one chamber. It is called the magma chamber. The magma chamber holds up to billions and billions of gallons of magma.
