The Wonderful World
                                    of Volcanos

General Information

* A volcano is something
that occurs on the surface
of Earth and causes deaths
and destroys homes. A
volcano is when rock from
the mantle melts and moves
to the surface through the
crust and releases pent-up
gases. High temperatures
and pressure causes the
rock to melt and become
magma. Magma is underneath
the Earth's surface.

types of magma because all rocks
are made of different minerals and
melt at different temperature levels.

  Signs that an Eruption is
            Necessary

* When a volcano erupts we find signs
before it erupts. Sometimes
a volcano can go off without warning
Steam Blast eruptions are capable to
occur with little or no warning.
Magmatic  Eruptions usually make
earthquakes as  it rises up from underneath
the ground. Or it could deform the
Earth's surface or change the temperature
in Spring waters.

Causes of Eruptions

* Magma is lighter than solid
rock. So it will rise above the
solid rocks around it. Some of the
magma collects in magma chambers
that fuels the volcanos. The reason
why the gases in the magma expand
is because the pressure decreases as
the magma goes up to the surface.

                          Two Paragraph Summary
                                                                    On Two Volcanos

The Sete Cidades is found in Africa. This volcano
is 37.9 North and 25.8 West. It rises up to an incredible
2,807 Ft.  This volcano is a stratovolcano with a summit
caldera. The Sete Cidades has erupted eight times.
The eruption of 1638 made the islet of Sabrina. Six
of the eruptions from the Sete Cidades were from vents
west of the volcano. Subaerial eruptions have a large
explosive event on the southwest side of the caldera.
The most recent eruption was from a submarine vent in
                                1880.
Mount Terror is found in Anartica. This volcano is a
Basaltic shield that forms part of Ross Island. Most of
this volcano is under snow and ice. Mount Terror is found
in 77.1 South and 168.5 East. This volcano is an astounding
                            10,700 ft.
Low areas on the east side of this volcano have been
studied. Rocks at the summit haven't been studied. Dates
for these rocks range from 0.82 and 1.75 million years.
