(9-21-03) Update from Patricia White Watson: Just wanted to let you know that I've gotten through the third surgery with flying colors, and though only out of the hospital for 10 days, I'm doing so well that I now plan to attend the Class Reunion August 1-2... (5-20-03) Patricia White Watson sent this information to share and welcomes prayers for healing... "I entered the hospital on February 14 for observation that resulted in two emergency surgeries and a month's stay with a long recovery period and another surgery facing me in 2-3 months, when I'm strong enough. The problem was acute diverticulitis that ruptured, plus a blockage that necessitated the second, life-saving surgery one month ago. I've been home, bed bound, till a couple of days ago, for three weeks today. Luckily, I have had excellent care and am told to expect full recovery -- a month without food and little water, two months in bed, and a weight loss of 30 pounds, mean I have a lot to make up for in regard to nutrition and body rehabilitation. The doctors tell me that there was only a 5% chance of my having the problem in the first place (speaking of luck, eh?), but slim to nothing are my chances for a recurrence. In the meantime, my only daughter, Christie, is expecting her first baby around my birthday in mid June, so I want to be strong enough to be there for her, as she and her brother Decker certainly were for me through this difficult period." Wife Sue reports "At the 10 AM visit Steve looked terrific! They'd removed the chest drain, the sensor in the heart and the catheter. All went very well - her nurses tell me that she is way ahead of schedule on the healing curve. She is still in a lot of pain and is therefore unable to sleep through the night. I give her pain medication about every four hours. I know that every day that passes will see her hurting a little less and less and soon she'll be her old self. Thank you for your prayers and concern. Paul Ludwig (3-24-01) Jim Fiedler (passed away 7-28-01) is awaiting a liver transplant as they spend the winter at their place in Florida. The prognosis appears good since there was only a small spot found so far. (3-2-01) After the doctors got a good look at Steve Foreman's heart, they feel that it is very strong and they do not have to do any surgery at this time. So a big sigh of relief was heard from Florida when that news was received. (3-9-01) This message from Sue Foreman on Feb 11, 2001. In applying for
an insurance policy Steve Foreman was told his heart was
not looking good. Seems his left ventricle was enlarging
and his aortic valve was not working right. This news just
after he whipped the uphill treadmill test and felt mighty strong. Just thank you for your prayers.
