Oxfam office gets bomb scare
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: The Kupang office of the British-based humanitarian
group Oxfam was evacuated Monday morning after three employees received
text-messaged bomb threats over their cellular phones.
Oxfam's head of finance and administration in Kupang, Katharina Waruseni, said
three employees received a threat that read: "dynamite in office will explode soon."
"All three employees received the same text message," Katharina said by phone.
The office alerted police and a bomb squad from the East Nusa Tenggara Police soon
arrived at the scene. The area was declared safe about an hour later, after police
determined there were no explosives. -- JP
