Poems From the Web

I Wish For You,

Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Gentle hugs when spirits sag,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Fauth so that you can believe,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
And love to complete your life!

Friends Forever,

Written with a pen,
Sealed with a kiss,
If you are my friend,
Please answer me this:
Are we friends or are we
not?
You told me once, but I
forgot!
So tell me now, and tell me
true,
So i can say, i am here for
you.
Of all the friends i've ever
met,
You're the one i wont ever
forget!
And if i die before you do,
I'll go to heaven,
And wait for you!

The Most Perfect Heart
A Story

One day a young man was standing in the middle of town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or flaw in it! Yes, they all agreed it was truly the most beautiful heart they had ever seen! The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart!

Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowdand said, "Why your heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine!" The crowd and the young man looked at the old man's heart. it was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didnt fit quite right and there were several jagged edges! In fact, in some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing! The people stared-----How can he say his heart is more beautiful?, they thought!

The young man looked at the old man's heart and saw it's state and laughed. "You must be joking", he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears!" "Yes ", said the old man,"yours is perfect looking but i would never trade with you, you see, every scar represents a person to whom i have given my love - i tear out a piece of my heart ang give it to them, and often they give me a piece of thier heart which fits into an empty place in my heart, but because the pieces arent exact,i have some rough edges, which i cherish, because they remind me of the love we shared!"

"Sometimes i have given pieces of my heart away, and the other person has not returned a piece of thier heart to me! These are the empty gouges-- giving love is taking a chance!!!! Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love i have for these people too, and i hope someday they may return and fill the space i have waiting!
So now do you see what true beauty is?"

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked up to the old man, and reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands. The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece from his old scarred and placed it in the wound in the young mans heart.
It fit, but not perfecty, as there were some jagged edges!
The young man looked at his heart, not perfect anymore, but more beautiful than ever, since LOVE from the old man's heart flowed into his!
They embraced and walked away side by side!

I just want to say that this poem hit me very hard, giving love is taking a very big chance because alot of the time we recieve none back! We think by giving more love we will eventually recieve it! In the end we have nothing but gouges as reminders, sometimes good sometimes bad, always painful! There are those out there who have cast there hearts in stone, i feel sorry for those people, I used to be one of them!

Confide in a Friend
A Poem

When you're tired and worn at the close of the day
And things just didn't seem to be going your way,
When even your patience has come to an end,
Try taking time out to confide in a friend!

Perhaps they too may have walked the same road,
With a much troubled heart and burdensome load,
To find peace and comfort somewhere near the end,
When they stopped long enough to confide in a friend!

For then are most welcome a few words of cheer,
For someone who willingly lends you an ear.
No troubles exist that time cannot mend,
But to get quick relief, just confide in a friend

If Tommorrow Never Comes
A Poem

If I knew it would be the last time that I see you walk out the door, I would give you a hug and kiss and call you back for one more.
If I knew it would be the last time I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise, I would video tape each action and word, so I could play them back day after day.
If I knew it would be the last time, I could spare an extra minute or two to stop and say I love you, instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.
If I knew it would be the last time I would be there to share your day, well I'm sure you'll have so many more, so I can let just this one slip away.
For surely there's always tomorrow to make up for an oversight, and we always get a second chance to make everything right.
There will always be another day to say our I love you's, And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do's?"
But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get, I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget,
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone, young or old alike, And today may be the last chance you get to hold your loved one tight..
So if you're waiting for tomorrow, why not do it today? For if tomorrow never comes, you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra time for a smile, a hug, or a kiss and you were too busy to grant someone, what turned out to be their one last wish.
So hold your loved ones close today, whisper in their ear, Tell them how much you love them and that you'll always hold them dear,
Take time to say "I'm sorry, please forgive me," "thank you" or "it's okay". And if tomorrow never comes, you'll have no regrets about today.

I Need You!
A Poem
My friend, I need you now- Please take me by the hand. Stand by me in my hour of need, Take time to understand.
Take my hand, dear friend, And lead me from this place. Chase away my doubts and fears, Wipe the tears from off my face.
Friend, I can't stand alone. I need your hand to hold, The warmth of your gentle touch In my world that's grown so cold.
Please be a friend to me And hold me day by day. Because with your loving hand in mine, I know we'll find the way.
