~FEATURES~
Somethings Old, Somethings New...
Salutations! So much has happened this week it will be VERY difficult to
cover it all well and even remember everything...so again tell me if anyone
or anything was overlooked!
The new and the old, some good, some not so...still all part of this ever
changing dance we call life! In light of all the developments I'll try to
'editorialize' less and 'just stick to the facts!'
Our Union website, as always, is going through constant changes. Just a
few of the more notable ones include:
* 'Magickal' Effects starting at the Gateway (link above) and apearing at
several areas throughout Union...see if you can find them all!
* Fine additions to our Library this week include:
* "Magic is Impressive..." by the lovely, often humorous and always
delightful Chrissena! Visit for D&D cantrip spells, lots of 'birdy cuteness'
and insights into many areas of gameplay!
* Spirit Online which appears as the Spirit Encyclopedia. Here is a rich
resource for PC and IRL spellcraft that also has links to other great sites
on our psyches, saving the earth and many worthy causes.
* Union Government and Society is the 'long awaited' text that explains
Union membership and rankings in a 'nuts and bolts' fashion. Must reading
for anyone who wishes to be truly active in Union!
* Union Affiliates, Associates and Alliances covers the rules for creating
and establishing Union Guilds, Taverns and Keeps. See also this week's
'Attachments' if you are interested in creating one!
* Union's first On Line Business is established! Lord Montahon's Ol' Style
Banner Shoppe offers inexpensive .JPG formatted Banners for your upcoming
website projects. While there are many sites which offer these free and
with greater options (see next week's Attachments!) this will be added for
those who just happen to like the banners seen throughout Union. Also, I do
make them for free for Union sponsored websites!
* The Mystikal City of Anciesta continues to grow, now with elemental
and fairy 'wings'! (k, poor pun!) Duchess Elandra has been hard at work and
has developed a fantastic site...check it out!
* We are still devoted bringing in new Guilds, Cities and Taverns to Union
and several seem near ready. Many miss our Webring Affilliates where Mage
constanly finds all those great new portals...how does he do that?
* Another first will be in this newsletter...an attempt to imbed pictures
to augment the stories! Please tell me if your mail does not support these
and you'd like to receive them as attachements...
"So." I hear some say, "Lotsa new stuff...didn't ye mention some old?"
Aye, I did! Time is said to be a circle by some and Union's rebirth on the
web can only attest this statement has some truth! I try never to focus too
much on the negative...we'll get that out of the way first!
* Please don't send me chain letters. Believe me, we won't die if we don't
forward them, get rich if we do or save any little children by playing into
the impulses of a few folks with too much time on their hands! If you see a
joke you think I'd like cut and paste it to send it. I'd much prefer feeling
you took that little time to share it than go through a thousand names to get
to the point! I love receiving mail from you all, know everyones' addresses
and give you priority every day as I go through the mail...just be
considerate of what ye send!
* I am VERY pleased many of you are active in the 'Mages and Mysteries'
FFRPG (details below)! Still, I must limit the game now to one 'guess' per
week. What ye seek is in Union, three places will answer the riddle, and,
though I said I wouldn't here's another hint: the answers lie in one of the
least visited places of Union!
* Another GREAT phenomena is some of your daily visits to sponsors! Some
that are being missed are the ones that ask you to take a poll or give some
information as ye enter. If you have the time and inclination, give these
people what they want and a little more will be added to our coffers. What
you normally get in return is 'junk mail' and, while some may be of interest,
each sill have a 'click here to be removed from our mailing list button' (and
please tell me if they don't!) so ye may ne'er after be bothered by them
again! Union Town is also now a great, fun place to shop in our fair land!
So, there's the news for some of Union proper! Read on...there is still
much more that has transpired this week!

Lord Monty and the Union High Council are pleased to announce the wedding
of our members Belderrick (belderrick@yahoo.com) and Minerva Long
(minerva_long@yahoo.com) to take place in a traditional ceremony on
Thursday, June 21st then again in a fantasy setting on Saturday, June 23rd at
which Monty plans attend! Congradulations and requests for further
information may be addressed to the happy couple...no chain letters please!
Union Accepted into, Honored by Prestegious Guild

The RPG Founder's Club, a group repressenting some 300 clubs with 8000
members not only accepted Uvion this week but allowed us entry into their
Webring as its 11th Member AND awarded ud their coveted Site of the Week
award which will begin as of Tuesday, June 19th! Much thanks go to Damsel
there who literally held Monty's hand through the greulling process of
setting everytging in order so these great fortunes have as such come to
pass!

The New Order of Sith

Hello all. My name is Master Thrawn Terak of the New Order of Sith. Some of
you may know me as the Lord of War for the Union. Well I want to tell you
today about The New Order of Sith. We are a new FFRPG (free form RPG) that
is devoted to exploring the Dark Side of the Force. We are in great need of
new members, especially in the yahoo club. The two sites are: the official

The Nomination of Our Lady of the Land
Liliornin Lohran (LiliorninChance@aol.com) was nominated for and
accepted the post of Lady of the Land on Monday June 11th. Her support of
Union even before was fantastic and she promises to be a worthy candidate to
this important post! She will be checking all Union's links to assure they
are functioning and up to date. Please take a moment to write and thank her
for taking on this extremely important and all yet often unappreciated
position!
Birth and Commencement Ball
All who attended the Ball at Union Keeps' Inner Sanctum, 10PM EST,
Thursday June 14th were in good spirits despite the poor turn out. (Monty
was stood up by his date yet again!) Still, the mood was upbeat and many of
the new developments ye read of here were heard about for the first time!

Mages and Mysteries FFRPG
Everyone has noticed the strange Mage who refers to himself as Mayhem
lurking about Union's gate. Who is this man? Why is he here? Herein lies a
mystery for all who wish to search for clues to who this man truly is and
what omens his appearance brings Union. Your only clue: The answers are in
Union, somewhere! Meet in the Tavern and Keep to discuss your findings. An
IRLprize will be awarded the member(s) who might solve this enigma!

Help Wanted
Lord/Lady of the Word (LotW): Union Council post in desperate need of
filling! This position currently requires less than three hours work per
week and entails:
* Checking all Union Library links and texts to assure they are up to date
and in workin order.
Union Knights: Always 'hiring'! please read the handbook at the Library
('runes' above). If ye have the metal and courage to join us, please do! No
duties required but rank may be gained swiftly for: Tavern Hosts, FFRPG
Proctors, Game Masters and Recruiters,to name a few. Please send an
application (runes again above) stating your interest.
IRL Items for Sale
Darthon's Claymore 32 lbs, 62 in, the original sword of Darthon himself,
'battle scars' included! Lord Montahon hates to part with it but shall if a
good offer is made!
Mage Mayhem's Robes Truly magical! These appear as normal robes with a
hood but become 'faceless' when reversed. Rare and no longer available (for
now!), these are in Union royal purple and drop 48 in from the shoulder.

* RECRUIT! If ye do not have the recruitment letter for Union please write
Monty for it. Then it is as simple as forwarding it as a 'map' or 'scroll'
to anyone ye feel may be intrested in visiting our fair realm. This is also
a free and public newsletter ye may share with all!

Not actually attachements, these links will allow you to set up and
easily design sites and clubs as seen throughout Union! Create a Tavern,
Build a City or just Create a 'Realm' of your own of any interest ye may have!
First is Yahoo! Clubs where starting up is as easy as getting a Yahoo!
screen name, answering a few questions and having folks of similar interests
come visit and join!
Then, to get started on a website there is no easier (or 'freer') way
than to hook up to Yahoo! GeoCities . No special skills are required and
you can have a great website on geocities free webspace as fast as you can
type in the details!
