Sorry! Couldn't help myself! I usually try to do my own puns here but, as I strapped into my very first Z-95 Headhunter for my very first battles in the Zone's X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (the MMRP Demo Version is available as a FREE download there! WOW!) this and other strange thoughts were swirling through my mind!
Really my beginning missions were with this very sweet French Emperial girl (oo-la-la!) who took me 'under her wing' to show me the basics of co-op play. It was a RUSH!!! I'd played the game before but the AI can't compare to playing with real people!
After she taught me the basics of on-line wingman commands (I was VERY sorry there wasn't one for "Kiss me, you fool!") and other MMRP differences I was ready for head to head (tete a tete!) action! I will say I saw little need for Knight intervention there...even the 'bad guys' are very helpful and all are well monitored by MSN's own guides.
So I include The Zone again...when ye join please also download their "Zone Friends" (a non-voice messenger), buddy me (Lord_Montahon) and join the "Alliance of Union"...in so doing you may add your five favorite games to our list and let everyone know what you want to play!
I'd also ask you include the Gateway to Union ( http://www.oocities.org/lordmontahon/main.html ) or the Galactic Federation ( http://www.oocities.org/lordmontahon/mainua.html ) as your favorite link so we have more folks coming our way to play with!
You are ranked as a player in XWvTF...now just to figure out how to convert those to Knight Points!
Website developments...hmmm...with me in the Zone fighting with the Rebels (ok, and the Empire too...I admit it!)??? Certainly! As hard as it was to drag myself away there are several great additions to the site this week!
My favorite and what took me the most time was my new background for Union Keep. I am no artist but, using Pixia, I created the semi-3D BG ye see now as opposed to its former 2D grass...just to find some new free castles...
The Library has seen the addition of MANY great reference 'books' on Live Action as we begin the arduous task of preparing for our own LARPG's. (See related article "New Union Clubs" below.)
I also included StarShip 3C to Terra: The GF HQ. This free game has several player options from an arcade-style space shooter to an interactive novel I must say is far better developed than ours! (Hey, wait till we get corporate too!)
Included at the approval of Lord of War Terak, you need a DSL and a FAST CPU to play this...please let me know if you'd be interested in establishing a Terran Outpost there because there is little I can do until I get some MASSIVE upgrades!
So here I go, so many great games at my disposal but an ever increasing list of tasks to promote Union and see to our well-being...what is a new Jedi to do?!?!

New Union Clubs
Yes, even more clubs I'll ask all to join! Even if ye could care less for LARPG, the Knights or GRIP gaming all of our clubs near the prized Yahoo! Top 50's in their respective categories so spend the five minutes it takes to join each one! Unlike most other Yahoo RPG Clubs ours are very well organized and of relevance to what a gamer is looking for. Getting in the Top 50 allows us to be seen by those who are interested in these areas and increase our membership with quality, focused players and GM's! Just click on each one and sign up today!
The Chapter of Union Hone has been established as our precursor to our LARPing events to begin in Spring 2002. While any of any true LARP anywhere are welcome, we are not to be confused with most existing clubs in that category who define LARP as voice chat FFRP...what are these people thinking??? Those of that mindset who join are in for a BIG surprise...hope its a pleasant one!
Sir Tigger's Home is a refuge for all Union Knights but he welcomes all others as well! Cmdr Tig (see the article 'Tigger Returns!' below) has worked very hard in promoting the Knights and creating their very first forum for our return to the net. Also consider joining the Knights while ye be there...they have a lot of fun gaining rank in the many ways available to them in gaming, assisting in the development of our Union and the all important task of seeing Union and the entire web is a safe environment for gamers everywhere!
Malik's GRIP Realm is his new Keep where we will begin our P&P style adventures using the free GRIP On-Line Role-Playing Sytem with the very easy to learn 'lite version' of GURPS: Generic Universal Role-Playing System. Any who have ever played D&D or other 'pencil and paper' RPG's will love the detail, maps and automated dice roles while the 'newbie' to this genre couldn't ask for a better start!
I can see now our schedule of events will soon need to be a seperate site...as soon as these new ones are going well rest assured many more will follow!
Tigger Returns!
Watch out Knights, the boss is back! I was delighted to be on-line today for the triumphant return of Cmdr Tigger after his brief excursion into the land of the blown out PC! An impromptu meeting was held and our dear Sir Tig was brought up to speed on many of the events of his absence. He also met two new members and entertained us all in the way only he is able! Welcome back, good friend...get those Knights in shape!
Sir Malik Promoted and Commissioned
Lord Montahon, Union Council and the Chapter of Union Home proudly bestow upon Sir Malik the rank of Lieutenant and commission his seat as the first member of the new net's Union's Command Council for his outstanding contributions to establishing GRIP gaming in our Union. After having joined him in his play testing I attest this will be a GREAT game for any interested and hope to see many participate and even GM a game of their own!

Lord/Lady of Law (LL): Union Council post in desperate need of filling!
This position currently requires less than three hours work per week and
entails:
* A working knowledge of Union Law and a willingness to see it enforced
throughout our realms.
High Priest/Priestess: This Post requires assisting Monty in the rebuilding
of the Palace Temple and overseeing the recruitment and training of incoming
priests. Some ceremonial duties may include conducting marriages and
christenings. Applicant should be of sound moral character and tolerant of
the beliefs of others.
Union Knights: Always 'hiring'! please read the handbook at the Library and
now in the Knights' Keep ('runes' above). If ye have the metal and courage
to join us, please do! No duties required but rank may be gained swiftly
for: Tavern Hosts, FFRPG Proctors, Game Masters and Recruiters,to name a
few. Please send an application or letter stating your interest.

Mage Mayhem's Robes Truly magical! These appear as normal robes with a
hood but become 'faceless' when reversed. Rare and no longer available (for
now!), these are in Union royal purple and drop 48 in from the shoulder.
