Monty returned to his study and began absently ordering his father's collected works. This was something he did both for their historical significance and for a better understanding of the man he never knew.
He wondered at the size of the collection, gathered from stashes Darthon had made throughout the realm during the Wars, and wondered if it would ever be complete. His father had been quite a prolific man.
One page fell from the stack, actually seemed to jump from it. Monty retrieved it and read...
Silent Screams
A cry in the twilight no mortal hears,
The sound of a heartbreak, of meaningless pain,
Wails loud as thunder are often uncried,

Some may see this as an ode to our terrorist victims. It is. Others may see it as a means of considering and dealing with any personal tragedies. It's that too. Few, if any, will ever know all its meanings, myself included!
A simple fact of the matter is that poem has been trying to 'get out of me' for a completely different project since before the attacks...interesting it finally DEMANDED to be written in light of recent IC and IRL events!
Lady Tatanka, as every American, is battling some very real 'demons' at this time. In public and personal arenas she is at war, her 'silent screams' turning to battle cries at the crimes and injustices they've presented us. All that and still managing to work on her new business...well done, M'Lady!
The Lady is near completion of her first 'commissioned work', a purple and gold official Union Council robe for yours truly! Before I get it she'll have pictures taken, posted at her site and a better idea of what a final price will be. She assures me it will be less expensive than robes of similar quality available elsewhere plus you'll have a choice of colors! See it and her other creations at her realm of One Copper City.
It is for these reasons and many others I dedicate this poem to her, IRL and IC.
Events at the Nation of Union BB/FFRPG Club also played into the call of my muse, a post from which this editorial is based. I could go into great detail about all that has happened there but if you're interested just click and see for yourself!
Much more has gone into planning than actual developments this week. The foremost has been in the addition of Novalogic to our ever growing 'arsenal' of games! Visit them for free single and multiplayer downloads of the Delta Force series, Commanche, F22 Lightning and other military sims.
These very realistic modern warfare games will hopefully become Union mainstays in the coming months. It is high time we at least make them available seeing so many of ours join the IRL military!
Delta Force 2 will be our first venture into these realistic realms. Greatly varied missions are available throughout the world. Each player is treated as a specialist: you may be a sniper, demolitions man, comm officer or any of a number of elite soldiers needed to complete the task.
I strongly suggest any interested in any of these games read the texts available at the site above, not only on the game interface but basic tactics. These are not sims to approach as most MMRPG's. They are very detailed and realistic from the moment you 'gear up' for your mission till you 'dust off' at your rendevous point!
Another irony is these games were coming to Union and 'Sir Tom' (of IRL Marine Recon) was looking forward to helping. Still, I have learned enough through personal research to give anyone new to Spec Ops sims a good start and you really don't need me! The manual from the full version contains great tactical training and has even taught me a few things!

from the 'Monty Missed the Fine Print' Department: Delta Force (1) is also MMRPG and is available there for $10. I will soon get it and compare the two!

Darthon had grown reclusive in his final months and none had bothered to scribe when exactly he had died. Still, while no date of his demise was certain, this was clearly written near his father's death.

I have already added to our Classifieds the need for leaders in Diablo willing to approach the game from both a casual play and Knight's training perspective. As soon as a Commander is able to take over there I will turn my attentions to the more realistic sims, beginning with the Delta Force series.
I also implore any who have real military experience or anyone you might know who does, particularly in the areas of aviation, to contact me to provide professional 'recreational' training. While I can hold my own in X-Wing there is a vast difference between my 'dogfighting' style and the way real combat flyers operate!

This position currently requires less than three hours work per week and
entails:
Emperor/Empress of EverEve (LtL): High Council position available to members interested in administrating Union activities
in The Empires of EverEve and overseeing the recruitment and training of incoming members there. Other requirements include:
* Webdesign and hosting skills
Warlord/Lord of Alhanzar: Command Council position available to Knights or members interested in building and administrating the Union Keep
of the Mystic Realms of Alhanzar and overseeing the recruitment and training of incoming members there. Other requirements include:
* A minimum level one membership to Alhanzar
Warlord/Lord of Diablo: Command Council position available to Knights or members interested in administrating Union activities
in Diablo and overseeing the recruitment and training of incoming members there. Other requirements include:
* Ownership of the original Diablo CD. (May be provided to the right candidate.)
High Priest/Priestess: This Post requires assisting Monty in the rebuilding
of the Palace Temple and overseeing the recruitment and training of incoming
