UNION CODES OF CONDUCT
Union is a neutral aligned Kingdom which supports the well-being and respect of all its members, clients, supporters, allies and visitors.
I: Universal Law
1. Union exists as part of the international community. Union will in no way support or condone any violations of actual law in any country or locality.
2. Union also exists as a member of the internet community. Union will in no way promote or condone any violations of terms of service of any ISP, MMRPG or other WWW governing entity. II: Union Law: General
1. Union, being of neutral alignment, will accept members of any alignment provided they abide by Union law.
2. Union law is determined by majority rule of High Council with veto rights retained by the Lord Sovereign.
3. Enforcement of law may be delegated to Chapter Leaders, Order Leaders and/or other Members at the discretion of High Council majority vote and/or Lord Sovereign approval.
III: Union Law: Criminal
Notwithstanding violations of Universal Laws and the consequences of breaking such as stated above, these are serious infractions in Union that may result in member expulsion.
1. Character Murder: Union exists to provide a safe forum for all its members and as such will allow no member death at the hands of her own with the following exceptions:
a. 'Involuntary Homicide' is possible in many gaming situations, especially in MMRPG. These will be judged on a case by case basis with great weight given the victim's testimony.
b. 'Fantasy Death' where the results of said death were preordained as possible by a Union sanctioned GM, proctor or other game leader and in no manner entails permanent loss by the player in any way.
2. Slavery: Union allows slavery only under the following conditions:
a. Said slave agrees to the captivity in writing, stating in such document the terms of his/her captivity.
b. Said slave may at any time dissolve the above agreement without cause or notice.
3. Harassment: No member may harass another member in any way. This includes but is not limited to:
a. Spamming, repeatedly IMing, or 'stalking' another member.
b. Cursing, belittling or insulting another member (unless in character in a Union sanctioned gaming situation).
c. Making lewd or promiscuous comments to a member after said member has stated these are unwelcome.
4. Treason: Union is a business and relies on its members to promote and portray her in a positive manner. Acts of treason include but are not limited to:
a. Use of Union copywritten materials for any purpose without written consent of the Lord Sovereign and/or rightful owner.
b. Speaking to or treating the Lord Sovereign, Council Member, Governor, Ally, Visitor or Sponsor in an unbecoming fashion.
c. Making any negative representation of Union to any outside individual or group.
IV: Union Law: Civil
While much could be added to Union Civil Law edicts it shall be sufficient to say here 'treat others as you would have them treat you.' Whenever disputes occur between Union members they themselves cannot resolve the following procedures should be used:
1. The matter should be brought before a neutral party for mutual discussion.
2. If no resolution is made as such, the members in disagreement should take the problem to the next highest in office or rank above them.
3. If the problem persits, said leader should make an appointment with the Lord Sovereign and/or Council Member for a trial date. This is to be used only as a last resort because these leaders spend much time and effort at their prescribed duties.
Keep always in mind that we are here for our mutual enjoyment and advancement. This is your kingdom too...make it the best you are able!
