FFRPG and PPRPG in Union

FFRP AND RPG IN UNION

Union takes great care to delineate clear differences between FFRPG (Free Form) and PPRPG (Pencil and Paper) for the protection of its members and Union as a whole.

FFRPG: Free-Form Role Playing

1. FFRPG is a system by which one or more combatants may fight online using chat rooms. Unlike other gaming realms, this is used in Union for SPARS ONLY (see also Codes of Conduct) for the purposes of gaining rank or friendly competition.

2. Under the above conditions members of Union may spar at anytime under whatever terms both (or all) combatants agree; however no rank may be gained unless a) the combatants are Union Knights, b) the combatants are using Union dice, c) a Union designated proctor oversees the battle and d) the fight is deemed fair and honorable by said proctor.

3. Only Knights of Union enlisted members may gain rank through FFRPG spars and an enlisted member may not receive a commission to office based on FFRPG spars. Rank is delegated to those of the Union Knights in the following manner, where 1 match won equals 1 point:

Private to Corporal, 5 pts

Corporal to Seargent, 25 pts

Seargent to Master Seargent, 250 pts

Master Seargent to Command Seargent, 1000 pts

Command Seargent to Seargent Major, 10,000 pts

4. FFRPG may be combined with any other means to gain rank in Union Knights. For example, if a Seargent wins his 150th match and has had recruited 20 Knights (5 pts x 20) under his command he will gain the rank of Master Seargent.

5. Laws applying to Union FFRPG are as follows:

a. Only one FFRPG match will be accepted per member per day.

b. Only one FFRPG match will be accepted by the same members per week.

6. On an honor system Union will accept as matches won any Union sponsored online games (such as Die by the Sword and WarCraft 2) under the following conditions:

a. The victor and loser both present to the presiding Lord of War (Proctor) the battle was held and agreed to under Union FFRPG terms.

b. All above conditions are met and both combatants are at peace at least a week. (Free spars are possible!)

PPRPG: Pencil & Paper Role-Playing Games

1. PPRPG is defined in Union as a game wherein Player Characters (PC's, or 'actual' participants) participate in a scenario as described by a Game Master (GM) and will find themselves in combat with Non-Player Characters (NPC's, or 'imaginary' characters as played by the GM).

2. Here a PC may decide best what to do to an NPC (kill, capture, etc.) within reason and by allowance of the GM. The GM has the right to reduce Experience Points (XP, described below) or remove a member from his game if any behavior is deemed inappropriate or Out Of Character (OOC) for a particular PC.

3. Only Knights of Union enlisted members may gain rank through RPG's and an enlisted member may not receive a commission to office based on RPG's. Experience Points (XP) are awarded by the GM for effective play and adds to the member's rank. While the GM of any particular game may have his own system for XP, rank is delegated in the Defense of Union RPG as such, where 100 XP equals 1 pt:

Private to Corporal, 500 XP (5 pts)

Corporal to Seargent, 2500 XP (25 pts)

Seargent to Master Seargent, 25,000 XP (250 pts)

Master Seargent to Command Seargent, 100,000 XP (1000 pts)

Command Seargent to Seargent Major, 1,000,000 XP (10,000 pts)

4. RPG may be combined with any other means to gain rank for a Knight of Union. For example, if a Seargent has 15,000 XP (150 pts) and has had recruited 20 Knights under his command (5 pts x 20) he will gain the rank of Master Seargent.

5. In MMRPG's rank will be granted by Lord Sovereign decree or by Council vote or any combination of the above.
