Special Notes for the Gnome Bots |
---|
The Bot Team is based on the "Automations" original team concept by Warwick Alsop. The roster and special rules have been modified for play balance and simplified for use with Ronald Lokers' pbem tool. Bot teams may not hire Allies or Big Guys. |
Repairs: Though Bots have the Regenerate Trait, they do not actually have the capacity for self-repair. Rather, this Trait represents the capability of the Head Mechanic (Coach) and his assistants to affect repairs on their creations in the dugout. Note that if the Coach is ejected from the game (after an "Argue the Call" with a referee), all of his Bots lose their ability to "Regenerate" for the rest of the game. |
Weather: Bots suffer some additional negative effects during adverse Weather. In Swealtering Heat, Bots will overheat on a roll of 1 or 2 (instead of just 1), causing them to miss the drive. In Pouring Rain, a d6 must be rolled for each Bot before the drive, with Bots short circuiting and missing the drive on a 1 or 2. In a Blizzard, any Bot rolling a 1 will have it's joints freeze up, causing it to miss the drive. These special Weather penalties are ignored for Bots with the Weather-Proof Trait. |
Weather-Proof Trait: A Bot with the Weather-Proof Trait does not suffer the additional negative effects of unusual Weather that afflict only Bots. Weather-Proof Bots must still face the normal Weather hazards that any other BloodBowl players would, just not the extra penalties applied only to Bots. This Trait may be gained as a normal Skill during player advancement. |
Technical Trait: A Bot with the Technical Trait must roll a d6 before setting up for each drive. On a 1, they have malfunctioned and must miss the drive. |
Haywire Trait: Similar to the Technical Trait, but Haywire Bots have a few more glitches in the system. Rolling a d6 before each drive, a Haywire Bot will miss the drive on a roll of 1 or 2. |
Brilliant Work Trait: A Bot with the Brilliant Work Trait does not suffer any ill effects from its Technical or Haywire Trait (i.e., may complately ignore the negative Trait). This Trait can only be gained by a Technical or Haywire Bot that rolls doubles during player advancement. |
Special Advancement Rules: If a Bot rolls doubles during advancement, the Bot may take any Physical Trait except Foul Appearance instead of a Skill. Such a Trait represents special new hardware and/or upgrades added to the Bot by the Coach. On doubles, a Coach may also choose to give a Technical or Haywire Bot the Brilliant Work Trait instead of a Skill. Any Bot may gain the Weather-Proof Trait as a normal Skill during player advancement. |
Apothecary: Bot teams can not use Apothecaries, since Bots are not actually alive. Bot Technosuits do contain a Tinker/Pilot Gnome, but Gnomes are a dime a dozen, and fairly easy to replace should one be killed when his Technosuit explodes on the pitch. |
Publicist: Bot teams don't hire conventional Team Wizards, but they may Freeboot a Publicist for $30,000 per game. A Publicist's efforts will add a +1 bonus to the Fan Factor roll after the match. Publicists may not be hired for League Tournament Final or Semi-Final matches, as these games get enough publicity already. |

Highlights | (Chaos cup playoff) Two teams with regenration going at it? How much pain could this possably cause? More than a little, just short of alot. Besides being underhanded every drive, he did have a pretty good run of luck in knocking us over and making it count. That's okay. He didn't get paid, and now we have ED-209. Good luck stopping us now! Not that it's ever been nessesary before, but we hope it'll be nessesary now. | ||||||||||||||

Highlights | (Chaos cup playoff) "Worst game ever" may well be an apt description. After our worst thrashing ever, we were "lucky" enough to have so many people hurt and/or not playing that we could legaly concede the game without penalty. It could have been worse in the long run, but the game itself was as close to a complete loss as you can get while still being played. Why do we have regenerate in the first place? | ||||||||||||||
