Aragorn Elessar
Aragorn was born in TA 2931, to Arathorn. When Arathorn died, his mother brought him to Rivendell, where he was raised by Elrond. At the age of 20, Aragorn met Elrond's beautiful daughter, Arwen, and fell in love with her. Elrond said that he would not let any man wed Arwen except for anyone who was king of Gondor or in a higher position, so Aragorn went into the wild and met Frodo at the Prancing Pony. Aragorn was first known to the hobbits as Strider, and he brought them to Rivendell. At the council of Elrond, Aragorn became a member of the fellowship. When Frodo and Sam decided to go to Mordor alone, Aragorn decided to track Merry and Pippin down, who had been captured by the Uruk-hai. Halfway through the journey, Aragorn, together with Legolas and Gimli, met Gandalf again whom they thought had died and were assured that the hobbits were safe. Aragorn, with his companions, then followed Gandalf to Edoras, capitol of Rohan. He met Eowyn, shieldmaiden and princess of Rohan, who fell in love with him. He chose Arwen over Eowyn, and fought during the battle at Helm's Deep. After the war and King Theoden died, he took the place of king of gondor and wedded Arwen. He became known as Elessar, an elvish name, which means Elf-stone. Aragorn means "Royal tree" and he was 87 years old when Frodo left the shire. He died in TA 3141. He is played by Viggo Mortenson.
