Arwen Undomiel of Rivendell was born in TA 241 to Elrond and Celebrian. Celebrian died later and Elrond was left only with Arwen, whom he treasured very much.
Arwen lived for many years of peace in Rivendell and Lothlorien,where Galadriel lived, until one day she met Aragorn in the woods and her doom was set. If she married Aragorn, she would have to give up her elven immortality--but she could remain in middle-earth yet let Aragorn go. Arwen chose to marry Aragorn and to live a mortal life--of which she would no longer be immortal. In TA 3049, she wed Aragorn when he was crowned king and had one son, named Eldarion and some daughters. Arwen died the winter after TA 3141. She was resembling to her foremother, Luthien Tuniviel and had the same beauty as her. Arwen means "Royal madien" and Undomiel means "Evening star", or more commonly known, "Evenstar". She is played by Liv Tyler.
