Frodo Baggins of the shire was born 22nd September, TA 2968. His parents, Drogo and Primula Baggins, drowned while fishing on Brandywine river one day, and Frodo's elderly cousin, Bilbo Baggins, took him in. When Bilbo left, he gave Frodo the one ring, and Gandalf discovered that it was indeed the One ring that the Lord Sauron forged, and told Frodo to bring it to Rivendell, where Elrond, the wisest of the elves, would decide what to do with the ring. Halfway through the journey, Frodo was stabbd by the witch-king or king of the nazgul, and was brought by arwen undomiel to rivendell, where Elrond healed him. At the meeting of Elrond, Frodo decided to take the ring and destroy it in Mordor, and a fellowship was formed. After Boromir died, Frodo decided to take the ring to Mount Doom himself, but was accompanied by Sam, his loyal gardener. In TTT, they met Gollum, a treacherous creature who was once called Smeagol. Gollum led the hobbits to Cirith Ungol, or known as Shelob's Lair. There he betrayed them and left Frodo to Shelob, who temporarily paralyzed him until Sam fought her off. When they finally reached Mount Doom, Frodo had the ring to throw into the fires of Mount Doom but Gollum, who had been secretly following them, bit off his fingers and in the fight accidentally fell into the fires with the ring.
Frodo returned to the shire with the hobbits and there he met the fellowship and watched Aragorn's crowning. Then he sailed away from the shire to the grey havens with the elves, gandalf and Bilbo.
Frodo is played by Elijah Wood.
