CHARLIE'S
AUTOBIOGRAPHY

CHAPTER   THREE

The next morning, the room was very noisy.  I watched everyone rushing about from almost daylight.  Then people started coming in and looking in the cages.

They would stop at my cage and say, "Oh, isn't he big!" "I'd sure hate to get bitten by him," others would say.  Some people made jokes about what a huge litter box I would need.  I started feeling really bad and a little scared.  After awhile I felt like I was going to start crying again.

Then a great big male human came in with two smaller humans.  The big male human stopped and looked at me for a long time.  He made nice comments about me and how pretty I was.  He looked around at the other cages, but he always came back to me.

Then he asked another human if he could hold me.  I didn't like the sound of that and decided to move as far back into the cage as possible.  The human who was suppose to get me told the big human that she had to wait a minute and let him calm down.  I wasn't doing anything but sitting in the back of my cage.

In a few minutes, she reached in and pulled me out.  The big human threw me up on his shoulder, and my front paws landed on his shoulder and he held me up by my bottom like you hold a baby human.

He turned to the two smaller humans and said, "I think he likes me!"  Well, I did not like him.  His scent was all wrong.  He was too loud.    And I wasn't sure I even liked the way he looked.

"Are you ready for the next chapter ??"
