SCENE 001: UNSPOKEN WORDS & DISHONESTY

Scene: Nothing was ever simple. In this world, if you ever wanted something done, it was never going to easy to accomplish it. You have to bust your ass for what you want. You have to sweat and bleed, and even then, sometimes you still don't get what you worked for. That's way it is. It's the way it always was, and the way always will be. Everyone has it hard, but some people seem to have it even harder than others. Stephanie McMahon believed she was one of those people were destined for a life of pure bullshit. It seemed like there was always someone who was trying to stand in her way. Sometimes Stephanie had to admit, she loved the challenge. But there were also times where she was just plain sick and tired of everything that was being tossed in her direction. Stephanie yawned softly, casting a glance over in the direction of the bright red numbers belonging to the digital clock that sat on the nightstand. They read 9:32 am. It was indeed time to get out of bed and start the day, but for some reason Stephanie just didn't feel like making any movement. This was unlike Stephanie, as determined of a woman as she normally was. The whole night she had been plagued with an irritating case of insomnia. It also wasn't like Stephanie to not get any sleep. It was that damn DWO.. and it was that damn Chris Jericho. Two majorly important factors in her life at this moment. Stephanie's head was so filled with ideas, plans, and troubled thoughts that she had been completely unable to get a wink of sleep in the night. She shifted under the bedsheets, positioning her body so that she could stare up at the white ceiling of the hotel in which she occupied. The thing that seemed to linger in her mind most was the the events of the night before, before Stephanie had laid her head down to sleep. Her eyelids fluttered for a moment before she allowed them to close, snippets of last night's happenings playing over in her mind.

LAST NIGHT:

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Stephanie.. I.. uhhh, have something I want to say.

Scene: She had a feeling she knew what Chris Jericho had been about to say. Stephanie had known him for years, and she could read the man like a book. Maybe he'd finally come out and say it. Crossing her legs, she leant forward, placing her elbow upon her leg as she stared at Chris with a look as if she were bored with the situation. That was a mistake on her part, for that look in itself had prompted Chris to keep his mouth shut.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: What is it, Chris? I'm listening. Go ahead.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Well.. I.. Good luck on your match on Shockwave. I know you can beat Stacy Keibler.

Scene: Stephanie sighed, not realizing she herself had discouraged Chris from speaking his true thoughts.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: Well, thank you, Chris. Hand me that remote control, will you?

:LAST NIGHT

Scene: Stephanie opened her eyes, finding herself once again peering up at the hotel ceiling. It was a rather disappointing thought, knowing that Chris Jericho was just too chicken to speak his feelings towards her. It didn't make any sense. Chris was always and extremely confident man. He wasn't afraid to speak up to anyone, her step up to anyone. How could he not be able to tell a woman how he felt? Stephanie shifted once again, growing uncomfortable under the sheets. Pushing them away slowly, she brought herself into an upright position. A small sigh escaped from her lips as she peered towards the window. Was Chris Jericho scared of her? Was it possible that Stephanie had intimidated Chris to the point where he was afraid to speak out? Maybe this whole manager deal wouldn't work out as well as she thought it would. Stephanie knew they could be an unstoppable force.. but with unspoken words and dishonesty, how could anything work? Stephanie bit down on her lip gently, going over her thoughts in her mind. What in the hell was she thinking? Dishonesty was the way she worked! It had always been in her job description. This was true, Stephanie also had to admit to herself that when she meant dishonesty, she meant lying to her opponents and her enemies. Triple H, of course, had been the only exception. Releasing her grip upon her bottom lip, Stephanie pushed herself to her feet. She gave a small stretch, running her fingers through her long chocolate tinted hair. Crossing the hotel room, Stephanie came to a halt by the window. The sun had long since risen, and Stephanie realized that she felt like a bum still decked in her pajamas. After a few moments, she allowed herself to sink into the chair by the window. Alright.. So Chris Jericho didn't speak of how he felt. So it hurt her that he didn't tell her. SO WHAT? She didn't have time to dwell on this. It just wasn't like her. Stephanie had a career to pay attention, there was a ladder to climb and a position to claim. If Chris didn't want to tell her, then that was his problem. Why should she bother herself, and stress herself out over it? Stephanie narrowed her eyebrows a bit as she stood back up suddenly, a new determination washing over her. Pushing her hair away from her eyes, Stephanie turned away from the window and walked towards the bathroom. She didn't need Chris Jericho's emotions. All she needed was his strength, and his aid to get her to the top of the DWO. That's all she needed him for. After all, she was a bitch, was she not? Stephanie used people, that's the kind of person she was. As she opened the bathroom door, she paused. Another sigh came out of her lips, exhausted and troubled. She hoped she could pull this off. Stephanie McMahon was a bitch..

.. but even a bitch has feelings that are hard to ignore.

SCENE 002: KILL THE KING OF THE WORLD

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: You know, Chris, I have to say that ever since we've gotten to the DWO, I haven't heard one single word of encouragement come out of your mouth.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: You want encouragement, Stephy Baby? Fine, here's a little bit of a pep talk.

Scene: Stephanie gazed over at Chris from the other side of the limosine in which they were sitting, heading towards the arena. She knew he was going to say something smart, attempt to piss her off. Usually it worked, but Stephanie just couldn't help it. Chris knew exactly how to strike a nerve each and every time. Chris just flashed an arrogant smirk.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: You're a bottom feeding trash bag ho.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: Chris, are you trying to piss me off? You're supposed to be helping me, not making me want to kill you!

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Of course I'm trying to piss you off, Steph.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: What the hell is wrong with you!?!?

Scene: This was really starting to get to Stephanie, and she could feel her cheeks flushing up with anger. Closing her hands into fists across her lap, Stephanie shot daggers of ice at Chris through her gaze. Chris noticed this, and it only fed the fire.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Nothing is wrong with me. I am the King of World. I'm just peachy. I think the question here, Stephanie, is what is wrong with you?

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: First of all, I think you've lost it! And if you think I am going to sit here and take this verbal abuse from you, Chris Jericho, you are very sorely mistaken! I hired you to come here and manage me in the DWO. I'm not here to feed your ego, and you're not here to be the Highlight of the Night!

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Woah, hold on a minute, Junior!

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: No! You shut the hell up and listen to me! You're just going to have to learn to keep your trap shut for once in your life, Chris! You're not at the top of the foodchain here, you're not even second best. This is a woman's federation. It's a womans world. It's MY world. You mean nothing here. You're balancing on shit, and as quick as a snap of my fingers you could be out in the cold. You're not here to win the gold, I am! This is about me, and I'm sick of you talking to me like I'm a slut off the streets! You need to keep your ego in check, because I sure as hell don't like you enough to sit here and take your shit!

Scene: Stephanie paused to take a breath, staring over at Chris in what seemed like pure rage. Her words seemed to have hit Chris like a ton of bricks, because he had fallen unusually silent. Those beautiful blue eyes gazed up at Stephanie, filled with emotion that she couldn't quite make out. Perhaps he was shocked... or maybe.. he was hurt? Either way, he seemed to be at a loss for words. Don't give in. Don't let him reel you in. If he doesn't want to be honest with you, why should you be honest with him? Stephanie knew without a shadow of a doubt that she was a strong woman, and she knew she could hide her emotions if need be. And now was that time. She cleared her throat, and turned her gaze towards the window.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Steph, I'm sorry. I was just trying to make you upset so you'd have more anger to channel out on Stacy Keibler at Shockwave. I wasn't anticipating you getting so pissy with me like that.

Scene: Was Chris Jericho actually apologizing? Stephanie blinked, and peered back at him.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: Are you seriously apologizing to me, Chris Jericho?

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: I am, but don't get used to it, assclown. I have a reputation to uphold.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: Well so do I, so the next time you pull something stupid like that, I'm going to call you out on it again.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Okay, time to build a bridge and get over it. Where are you taking me, anyways?

Scene: He was still hurt. Stephanie could tell by the lack of twinkle in his eyes, even as he tried to change the subject. For a moment, she didn't know what to say to him, even though his question required a simple enough answer. When he didn't get his answer right away, Chris looked over at Stephanie, their gazes locking.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: We're going out to get something to eat. I figured it would give us a chance to go over strategy. And there's something else I want to talk about but I don't want to talk about it here in the limo.

Scene: Uh oh. Chris swallowed the lump that had appeared in his throat. Did Stephanie know? No.. she couldn't. He showed absolutely no signs, right? He only nodded, golden locks of hair shifting over his shoulders. He tucked a few strands behind his ear.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Right, but you better not try to pull anything funny, Stephy Baby. Remember, like you said before, this is strictly a business relationship. There will be no dinner and a movie, or a walk amongst the stars.

Scene: Stephanie rolled her eyes, knowing perfectly well that Chris was trying way to hard to hide it. Had he ever heard of a little thing over called over acting? Apparently not.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: No, of course not. Don't be ridiculous..

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: I'm just making sure.

Scene: Stephanie nodded, and an awkward silence fell between the two of them as the limo moved on down the streets. She was feeling a little to stubborn to actually look over at Chris and meet his gaze. Stephanie'd never felt this awkward riding a limosine with a man before. Since when did she have trouble speaking her mind? Finally, it was Chris who broke the silence.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: So.. Steph.. How about them Bears?

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: What? What are you talking about it?

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: It's just something people say when the moment's gone awkward. You know, to get the conversation back to normal.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: I hadn't realized it went awkward in the first place, Chris.

Scene: What a lie. Gathering up the nerve to look back at him, Stephanie crossed her right leg over her left and let out a small sigh. She caught Chris peering at her legs for only a moment, which she figured was as long as he dared to look.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: Look, Chris. Obviously our egos are clashing. If we don't set this aside and learn to get along, this isn't going to work. I know we have the strength to dominate the DWO, but you need to be willing to work with me.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: You're right, Stephy Baby. We need to get along better. This isn't some Stephanie McMahon and Hunter Helmsley episode.

Scene: Stephanie blinked. What did he mean by that? Well, nevermind! He was actually trying to make peace, and Stephanie had to admit that it was the last thing she expected from him. A beautiful smile crept across her lips as she watched him. Chris smiled as well.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: Well, Chris, that's great! I'm glad you see the same way I do. We should be being bitches to everyone else, not to each other.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Hold it, Steph. I'm not a bitch. I'm an asshole. There's a difference.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: Okay, you're an asshole. But either way, I'm glad we're finally on the same page. I'm glad you came around to your senses.

[LIVING LEGEND] Chris Jericho: Oh no, Stephy Baby. I didn't come around to my senes. I just realized that you need me too damn much and you're just afraid to get down on your knees and beg for the help you so desperately want. So, I've decided to be a good citizen, and give you my assistance cooperatively. You know, you being so desperate and all.

Scene: Chris flashed a charming, egotistical grin as Stephanie's smile quickly faded into a glare. Her eyebrows narrowed dangerously, and she could feel her right hand swelling up into a fist. Just one swing. What would one swing hurt? Chris shifted his weight, obviously still pleased with himself. He didn't expect what was to follow. Stephanie faltered a moment as Chris turned his attention away from her.. and then BAM! Her fist went sailing into his cheek bone.

SCENE 002: AND I CAN'T STAND JUNK FOOD!

Scene: Stephanie McMahon found herself gathering up her personal belongings and setting foot into the Continental Airlines Arena all by herself. After she'd decked Chris Jericho in the face, he decided to throw a fit and go his seperate ways once the limo was parked into the arena parking lot. What a big baby he was! If Chris couldn't take a small punch from a woman, Stephanie shuddered to think of what kind of person he was when no one was watching. Shifting her bags in her arms, Stephanie dumped them on the tile floor by the doorway. A stagehand instantly came and scooped them up without so much as a word to her, and began to whisk them away towards her locker room. Visibly irritated, Stephanie followed the stagehand to her locker room and watched as he dumped her bags inside carelessly. As the stagehand turned to leave, Stephanie reached out and touched his arm. He stopped, and peered at her with a questioning look. Stephanie snarled audibly, and slapped him smartly across the face.

[PRINCESS] Steph McMahon: You should learn to have a little more respect for your superiors!

Scene: The stagehand, apparently too shocked to reply, touched his red cheek tenderly and scrambled out of the room. Grasping onto the door, Stephanie slammed it loudly behind him.
