If you have a varying work or school schedule you agree to provide this schedule in writing prior to the needed hours each week or as often as it changes.
The items (if age appropriate for your child) to be provided by the parent or guardian are diapers/pants, wipes. Some parents prefer to leave a bag of diapers and container of wipes here. Sunscreen, a bib, and a spill proof Playtex sippy cup in the color I specify with your child name in it. The child’s comfort item if they have one and two complete weather appropriate changes of clothes including foot covering. No open toe shoes please. A Pack and Play crib or Playpen to be left here for your childs use.
I operate a well care facility so if when your child becomes ill, you will need to have a backup person who can help you out. If you do not have a person, you might want to discuss the situation with your employer or try contacting The Rainbow Recovery Program. This is a program through Morton Plant Mease Hospital that cares for sick or injured children while their parents work. Their numbers are Clearwater 727-462-7831, Dunedin 727-734-6220, New Port Richey 727-841-4606. The Recovery Room has limited space so you must reserve space and be pre-screened so make sure to call ahead.
You will feel much less stress if you have planned for emergencies. Scheduled days of closure are included under a separate section. The only thing I cannot foresee is a death, illness, or accident of one of my family. Please be prepared for any type of emergency.
If your child has a contagious illness, it will be necessary to keep him/her home. Before returning into care, you will need to have written permission to return from the physician. This assures that the child, according to the physician, is no longer contagious. Should your child be absent for more than 3 days in a row, excusing vacations, it will be necessary to obtain authorization from the physician to return to care.
I encourage your involvement in your child’s daily activities. Should you choose to join us for lunch, or read a story after rest time, or just arrive a few minutes early to watch your child play. There will be times that I may request you to save certain things for us to use. Occasionally I will be sending home suggestions for you to try with your child.
I am sure that you want the best for your child. We will be joined in a partnership with regard to the growth and development of your child. In order to facilitate our partnership, it is absolutely necessary that we have open communication. We need to share information openly and honestly.
Your child will be provided many diversified learning experiences and should be encouraged to leave toys and other items from home at home. Bringing a special toy or blanket to be used at rest time is acceptable.
In closing, please remember that I am pretty isolated here daily and if you know that you will be doing errands such as going to the post office or grocery store, it would be appreciated if you would ask if I need anything. I will gladly pay for the items that I might ask you might pick up for me. Your support and acknowledgement of my job and me is greatly appreciated.
