These little cattle are active and bright. Miniature Zebu are very attractive and the calves are so very cute, almost fawn like!! Zebu are gentle animals and ours will all come when they are called and eat from our hands. They were bred to provide their owners with milk, meat, leather, and were even broke to pull carts for their human families. Quiet nature and good temperament were very important qualities that were bred into the Zebu so they could be easily handled by even the youngest members of the family. They are hardy and more disease and parasite resistant than many of our North American Cattle breeds. Zebu are a tropical breed so they easily tolerate and even thrive in the heat of our summers. They do surprisingly well in the cold of winter as well, provided they are given appropriate shelter from strong wind and the wet. It is not recommended that they are bred to calve too early in colder northern climates so it is easier on the newborn calves.
