Farscape

I wish I'd seen more of this one. I don't have cable, so have just seen a few episodes here and there when visiting my parents or someone else who does. I know it's not quite off the air yet, but it's looking like I'll have to catch it on DVD when the time comes.

The episodes I have seen tend to be reasonably well written, with solid special effects and decent acting. The premise is a little over the edge (NASA dude gets sucked into a spatial anomaly that drops him a few million light years from the ass end of nowhere, but manages to provide him with a few new friends), but it's SF and it's TV so that's really not all that surprising.

The aliens (most of the cast), are just a little bit more than one- dimensional, which is always nice. Unfortunately, a couple of them are a little too puppet-like (well, considering that they are puppets this isn't surprising, but they could have done better). They do tend toward the Star Trek mold, though, where most aliens are just funny looking humans. I look forward to a show some day where the aliens are consistently alien, but this is probably too much to expect from Hollywood.

I like what I've seen of Farscape. I think I'd probably like it more if I saw it more.
