Baker Middle School Orchestra Handbook

Dear Parents,

  Welcome to a new refreshing year. As your Orchestra Director, I am very interested in the
musical development of your child. My primary goal is to provide a challenging musical
environment for your child.

   My secondary goal is to provide a safe and pleasant environment where your child can develop his or her own musicals skills and goals.  I understand that my leadership and teaching
skills will impact both the way I teach  and the educational outcomes and the continuous
success of our orchestra program. I understand that the orchestra program belongs to the school, the students and the community and that any successes will have a direct impact on these three.

   We will have a variety of musical activitie, concerts, contests and trips.  For the successful
implementation  of these, the cooperation, loyalty and dependability of all its members is of
primary importance. I expect this from all our parents too. I any problems arises during the
year, make sure you contact me and I will arrange a conference with you.

    I earned Masters in Music Education from Florida State University, and a Masters in
Violin Performance from the University of Akron in Ohio, in addition to Bachelors of Arts in music from the University of Puerto Rico.

    I have worked with music students at all levels from elementary to college.  In addition
I have worked as private instructor for summer music camps throughout the country and
with Youth Symphonies.  I also  have a considerable amount of performing experience. I
have freelanced with Symphony Orchestras in Ohio and Texas.

     I am excited about the musical projects planned for this year at Bake, and to be part
of this wonderful community.  I am certain that this will be another wonderful year for
all orchestras at Baker, for you and for myself.
