THALASSOTHERAPY

Thalassotherapy - marine algae & sea salts
Mineral salts in sea water have a natural affinity with blood plasma, so seaweed masks help strengthen and balance skin tissue while encouraging toxic elimination. Full-body seaweed wraps ease fluid retention and aid inch loss. Some treatments mimic hot and cold water stimulation by following a warm seaweed mask with a tingling cold menthol gel.
Good for easing back and joint pain, rheumatism, arthritis, bronchitis and menstrual and muscular problems. Thalassotherapy detoxifies and eases aches and sprains and is often tailored to anti-cellulite and skin-care treatments, but avoid if you have heart disease, high blood pressure or are allergic to iodine in seaweed.
Practise BALNEOTHERAPY at home by immersing yourself in a bath at 70F for 20 minutes. Add seaweed powder to relax you, lower blood pressure, and boost metabolism and elimination of waste. In HYDROTHERAPY, pine oil eases chest problems, oatmeal softens and soothes the skin, and Moor (mineral-rich peat from health stores) relaxes muscular tension.
Seaweed powder, hydrolat, absolute, marine algae and sea salts are available from specialist suppliers.

COLOUR SYMBOLISM OF THE MANDALA
If form is crucial to the mandala, so too is colour. The quadrants of the mandala-palace are typically divided into isosceles triangles of colour, including four of the following five: white, yellow, red, green and dark blue. Each of these colors is associated with one of the five transcendental Buddhas, further associated with the five delusions of human nature. These delusions obscure our true nature, but through spiritual practice they can be transformed into the wisdom of these five respective Buddhas. Specifically:

White - Vairocana: The delusion of ignorance becomes the wisdom of reality.
Yellow - Ratnasambhava: The delusion of pride becomes the wisdom of sameness.
Red - Amitabha: The delusion of attachment becomes the wisdom of discernment.
Green - Amoghasiddhi: The delusion of jealousy becomes the wisdom of accomplishment.
Blue - Akshobhya: The delusion of anger becomes the mirror like wisdom.

THALASSA was the goddess of creation in Greece and Mesopotamia, was another name for TIAMAT, who was often a depicted as a sea serpent.

LYMPHA was the Greek goddess of the healing power of water.

MYRRHA was the Greek goddess of myrrh, mother of Adonis, god of vegetation who became the anemone.

The MAILE in Polynesia were the 4 earth/arts goddesses, sisters - the four myrtles. They scented temples and the hula, and were sacred to the Greeks.

WALT WHITMAN
I Sing The Body Electric

This is the female form, A divine nimbus exhales from it from head to foot,
It attracts with fierce undeniable attraction,
I am drawn by its breath as if I were no more than a helpless vapor, all falls aside but myself and it,
Books, art, religion, time, the visible and solid earth, and what was expected of heaven or fear'd of hell, are now consumed.
Mad filaments, ungovernable shoots play out of it, the response likewise ungovernable,
Hair, bosom, hips, bend of legs, negligent falling hands all diffused, mine too diffused,
Ebb stung by the flow and flow stung by the ebb, love-flesh swelling and deliciously aching,
Limitless limpid jets of love hot and enormous, quivering jelly of love, white-blow and delirious juice,
Bridegroom night of love working surely and softly into the prostrate dawn,
Undulating into the willing and yielding day,
Lost in the cleave of the clasping and sweet-flesh'd day.

This is the nucleus - after the child born of woman, man is born of woman,
This is the bath of birth, this is the merge of small and large, and the outlet again.

Be not ashamed women, your privilege encloses the rest, and is the exit of the rest,
You are the gates of the body, and you are the gates of the soul.

The female contains all qualities and tempers them,
She is in her place and moves with perfect balance,
She is all things duly veil'd, she is both passive and active,
She is to conceive daughters as well as sons, and sons as well as daughters.

As I see my soul reflected in Nature,
As I see through a mist, One with inexpressible completeness, sanity, beauty,
She the bent head and arms folded over the breast, the Female I see.

-

A woman's body at auction,
She too is not only herself, she is the teeming mother of mothers,
She is the bearer of them that shall grow and be mates to the mothers.

Have you ever loved the body of a woman?
Have you ever loved the body of a man?
Do you not see that these are exactly the same to all in all nations and times all over the earth?
If any thing is sacred the human body is sacred,
And the glory and sweat of a man is the token of manhood untainted,
And in man and woman a clean, strong, firm-fibered body, is more beautiful than the most beautiful face.
Have you seen the fool that corrupted his own live body? or the fool that corrupted her own live body?
For they do not conceal themselves, and cannot conceal themselves.
