In Japan, the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (BSSM) first aired in 1992 and was created by Naoko Takeuchi. DiC dubbed the first two series of Sailor Moon. Clover Way dubbed the third and fourth series (Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon SuperS).

- Serena and Darien are boyfriend and girlfriend. They are destined to get married in the future. Their future daughter (Rini) is Sailor Mini-Moon.
- There are two groups of the Senshi - The Inner Scouts (which are Sailor Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus) and the Outer Scout (which are Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Pluto). Sailor Moon and Mini-Moon are neither Outer nor Inner. The Outer Scouts don't appear until Sailor Moon S, with the exception of Sailor Pluto, who appears in R.
- Luna and Artemis guide the Sailor Scouts in the first 3 Series. Diana, the third cat, is Luna and Artemis' daughter. She trains Rini as a Scout.
- Sailor V was actually the first Sailor Scout and used to live in England.

Most scenes of violence were dubbed in the series, like Raye slapping Serena or Rini being spanked. If you watched the Sailor Says at the end of the shows, they show a lot of scenes that were dubbed out of the shows. In some of the episodes, the dialogue was totally made up. Most sentences in the scripts don't follow the the original version, however it's closely related to the conversation topics.
