FRED EISLEY
(Chuck Wright)

If the Eisley family had its way, young son Fred would have gone into politics and the theatre would have lost an able and personable juvenile. His late grandfather, J. Hampton Moore, was a United States Congressman and Mayor of their hometown--Philadelphia. But ever since Fred appeared in a grammar school offering of "Little Jack Horner," he had no thought of any career outside of the theatre. Before he achieved professional standing as an actor, however, he performed such odd jobs as lifeguard at a summer resort, busboy at the Automat, and photo laboratory assistant. He saved his earnings for a trip to Hollywood, where he was cast in several films, among them "Fearless Fagan," "Operation Secret," "Big Jim McLain" and "Medal of Honor." He made his Broadway debut in "Picnic" in Paul Newman's role when the latter left for Hollywood. A frequent TV performer, he has also had extensive stock experience and is an alumnus of the road tour of "Mister Roberts."
