My
name is Sergey Zayats. I live in Vladivostok,
the Capital of Primorye, the Maritime Province of the Russian
Far East. Here in Primorye
the Sea of Japan and numerous rivers and lakes offer great fishing opportunities
for anglers. I like to fish in different ways, but my favourites are
:
I
am also something of a local fishing expert. In spring-fall 2000 I'll be in
and out of the Armu
lodge guiding a trout
and grayling fishing tour on the Armu river in Northern Primorye, about
350 miles away from Vladivostok and Khabarovsk, the only large cities around
here. This is a highly customised tour for small 1-3 person groups.
A totally different sort of fishing is winter ice fishing. Vladivostok is within easy reach of ice fields off Russki Island, so that we can go angle through a hole in the solid ice for a day, and come back home or to a hotel for the night. In this way, angling is a year-round pastime, which suits me just fine.
