Ceremony
Jean-Luc came into Remy’s dressing room. He cleared his throat.
“Remy I need to say this before the ceremony starts. I want your forgiveness
and your love. I just want you to understand that I just want what is best
for you. Are you happy?
“Yes, papa very.”
Jean-Luc started fumbling with his words. “I know this is going to
take sometime for me. Logan…” Jean-Luc took a deep breath. “Logan is very
protective of you, like your brother. I see he loves you. Remy the way
I had to find out about you…”
“About me liking men. Papa you taught us to stay up and be proud of
ourselves. The truth of the matter is that I’m in love with Logan and happier
than I’ve ever been. So please, please don’t judge me like you did in the
past. I miss mama, Henri and you especially. I forgive you, I love you
papa.” Remy started sobbing.
“Shh! Petit, that’s ok. Now listen.” Jean-Luc holding Remy and wiping
away his son’s tears. “Stop crying you do that after the ceremony or during.”
Both men laughed.
“Now your mama and mother-in-law to be are a different case. They’ll
be crying throughout the whole thing, so are you ready petit?”
“Ready, yes I am papa.” Remy replied.
With that Jean-Luc and Remy walk out the room on their way to the hall.
“Mom please stop that, you know I hate this penguin suit, so stop tightening
my bow tie so tight!” Logan snapping at his mother.
“I’m nervous sweetie and I know you are too. So shut up and let me
finish straighten you out.” snapping back at Logan, Annie smiled.
“Oh mom, stop please. I’m sorry!” He was hugging her ever so gently.
“Well my little wolfie you ready to go?” George screamed from outside
the door.
“Yeah, I’m ready! Mom go on ahead I’LL be right behind you.”
“Oh sweetheart. I’m going” Annie replied. “Now George how many times
have I told you about yelling like that!” Logan’s parents were fussing
down the hall as Logan was coming out from the room.
“Hmm! I hope Remy is ready for this family,” Logan thought as he shook
his head and grinned.
Logan made is way down the isle, greeting guest. The Wolfs and the
LeBeaus were sitting in front. Both mothers were crying their eyes out.
George was comforting his wife. “Honey, it ain’t start yet,” he said. “I
know, I’m crying because this my be the first and last time I’ll see him
in a tuxedo.” Annie sobbed out. The whole crowd laugh knowing it was true.
Logan looks over on his left and saw a man in a wheelchair. “Henri!” Logan
burst out. “Merdi, you are Logan. A pleasure to meet you, this is my wife
Simone, and my daughter, Heaven and my fil, Samuel.” Henri had introduced
his family to his in-law to be.
“My, Remy will be so excited to see you all. He may not be able to
get through the ceremony without looking over to see if your really there.”
Logan commented. They all laugh and said their goodbyes for now until after
the ceremony.
The music started to play and everyone face towards the back to see
Remy dress in all white and his father right beside him. “Speechless and
breath taking” Logan thought as he look at his lover.
“Papa are you sure you want…”
“Yes petit, now come. Don’t keep Logan waiting,” Jean-Luc smiled back
at his teary eye son. He gave his son away to the man who he respected
and trust. The ceremony went on for about 40 minutes long. Bruce in the
duration of the ceremony misplaced the ring for Remy, which he and Chris
starting looking for in the back seat of the car. Both men ran back to
their places as Bruce did so, he almost tripping over his own feet. “Sorry
folks, it seems as through the ring slip out,” Bruce said in a rush. “Logan
is going to kill me, I know it,” Bruce thought as he gave a grin. Logan
was griddling his teeth and Remy and Chris were laughing and must of the
crowd. The pastor had announced them as life partners; they passionately
kiss. Everyone was clapping and cheering the new couple. They ran out and
into the limo on their way to the reception hall. The family and friends
were right on their heels. They entered the room with smiles of joy. The
guest were dancing, eating, drinking and talking filling the room. Henri
and Remy were talking about up old time and getting acquainted with his
brother’s family. Logan looks over and saw his lover with his brother,
and his third glass of champagne.
“I’ll better tell Remy to cool it. He knows what happens when he drinks
too much,” Logan thought. He made his way over to where Henri and Remy
were. “Hey you two! Uh! Remy why don’t you give me this glass and just
take a break.” Logan said.
“I understand chere scared you’ll take advantage of me.” Remy grinned.
Henri laughed and excused himself from the couple. “I see my wife wants
me to dance with her. Fellows I’m going to cut a rug.”
Logan and Remy look and smiled. “Now back to you. I wanted to enjoy
this celebration with everyone else,” Remy replied with a sired speech.
“I know you know that this stuff creeps up on you. So just slow down
a little, ok!” Logan pleaded.
“How about a dance darling?”
“Yes, I would love too, wolfie!” Remy laugh as he took his lover to
the dance floor.
“Who the hell told you?
“Some little birdies!”
“I’m going to kill Bruce…and talk to my mother!” Logan shouted.
Bruce giggled because he knew Logan found out and Chris laughing as
well. Chris was dancing with Logan’s mother. He had started thinking about
Bruce and him having a ceremony of their own, but knew Bruce couldn’t commit
to that step.
“Excuse me Mrs. Wolf mind if I cut in,” Bruce asks. Chris thoughts
had stop when he heard that voice.
“You ready to dance!” Bruce shouted. Everyone was having a good time.
It’s 3:30 in the morning and the party was whining down. Remy
and Logan were on their way home to pack for their honeymoon. Both sets
of parents were following the couple home. Bruce and Chris were on their
way to Bruce’s penthouse. They arrived at about 4:15 at the building. Bruce
parks the car and as he did, he look over to his lover who was on his way
out of the car. “Chris wait!” He sat back in the car. “Bruce it’s almost
4:30 in the morning can’t it wait until 2 or 3 in the afternoon,” Chris
joke.
“No it can’t. I notice the way you look at me during the ceremony and
the reception. Maybe, well would you…”
“Bruce are you about to ask me to…"
"… to move in with me." Bruce cutting off Chris, ending the sentence.
Chris turned and kisses him and said with the warmest tone, " Bruce I know
moving in would be a hell of a big step for the both of us. I don't want
to rush this."
"No I want you to live with me here," Bruce pointing to the penthouse
apartment. "I worry about you when you're gone, working those crazy hours
at the hospital," Bruce finally admitting.
“Bruce can I think about this? I just don’t want to think your doing
this because of what Logan and Remy ceremony. Now can we go to bed, I’m
tired. I could sleep for a week,” Chris said as he kisses Bruce on the
cheek.
“Chris I…”
“Lets go Bruce and I already know. I love you too.” Chris would usually
say to Bruce. Almost two years together and Bruce never told Chris he loved
him. Bruce had never been in love and so whip all at the same time. He
has been to scare to say those three words to Chris. So Chris always completed
the phrase.
So they get out of the car and headed to the elevator on their way
to the penthouse and as the elevator doors closed Bruce cleared his throat
and took a deep breathe, “I love you, Chris.” He took Bruce’s hand and
knew that was the hardest thing Bruce very did. Finally Bruce let down
his guard and Chris kiss his lover passionately.
“I know,” Chris smiling at his lover.
“Remy come here, just lay down.”
“Non, I want you, come on Wolfie.”
“You don’t want this not like this Remy, you’re drunk.”
“Why?” Remy said as he passes out.
“Because darling I know it ain’t what you want. I know you’re scared,
you guess if you were like that it wouldn’t be so bad between us. I got
news for you, kid.” Logan said.
“I know you want to satisfy me, but you’re still not ready. In do time,
Remy” Logan thought.
