September 2002

Dear Parents:

Welcome back!  We hope you had an enjoyable summer and are looking forward to the year ahead.

Grade eight can be both challenging and rewarding if everyone contributes in a positive way to the school community.  To make this year as productive as possible, it is our hope that students, parents, and teachers can work together for the benefit of all.  If there are any concerns throughout the school year, please contact us as soon as possible.

A responsible attitude will be expected from each student in regards to their actions at school and in their preparation for classes.  Appropriate gym wear, notebooks and textbooks as well as completing assignments on time will bring success.  Students are expected to do nightly homework, to complete daily and long term assignments.  Remember, working ahead, reviewing notes, fixing up notebooks or reading is productive homework.  Fulfilling these requirements should be the responsibility of a mature student and will help in future endeavors.  If problems should arise in any of these areas, you will be contacted for your support.  Throughout the year, tests and assignments will be sent home to be signed.  Please return these as soon as possible.

Once again, thank you for your cooperation and we look forward to working with your child this school year.

Sincerely,

Mr. C. Cipriano
Mrs. C. Schroeder
Ms. M. Toth
