Artemis is the second of three guardian cats introduced in the series. He is a friend and companion to Mina and accompanied her during her European career as the masked heroine, Sailor V.

Artemis later becomes a close friend of all of the Inner Sailors, but remains very close to Mina. His one flaw is that he tends to be a bit thick-headed, especially when it comes to "The Mission". An example would be episode 107, where both Mina and Mimete compete in a contest to play a walk-on role in a film. Artemis is fooled incredibly easily, which allows Mina to escape, but he later shows up at the try-outs with the rest of the group in tow to lend his support.

Artemis also tends to put his foot in his mouth every so often. When the girls decide to go to an all-you-can-eat bakery, the first thing Artemis says is: "You'll get fat."

Fascinating Fact: The most infamous fanfic in the Sailor Moon online community is a hentai fic about Artemis, and is entitled "Artemis' Lover".

Episode #72: Dog Day for Artemis

Luna is the first of the three guardian cats introduced in the series. She introduced Serena to her fate and future as the heroic Sailor Moon and later, the Moon Princess. It was a hard task. Serena was a self-absorbed teenager intent on living a normal life, doing a lot of the things a normal teenage girl was interested in doing.

Soon a friendship was established between Luna and Serena and Luna showed herself as an able advisor who often had to make sure that Serena kept focused on the mission.

Luna tended to be a bit pushy when she felt it necessary. Oftentimes, Luna got into arguments that simply irritated Serena, and she was the only one of the three guardian cats to ever threaten one of her friends. At the same time, Luna's loyalty was never questioned, and she was the one who did the most exploring of humanity.

Sailor S Movie

Diana is the last of the three guardian cats to be introduced in Sailor Moon. She is the daughter of Luna and Artemis, born in the future. As a guardian cat, Diana is introduced in SuperS as Rini's guardian. Her introduction caused a bit of an upraor because Luna discovered her and thought that Artemis had had a kitten with some other cat. Mina and the rest of the girls thought the same thing, and it was up to Diana to straighten things out.

Diana conducts herself as a proper young lady, addressing both Serena and Darien with honorable terms because of their future status. She is intelligent and curious, qualities that sometimes create interesting situations.
