Rocchamaneout
An outcrop of rock, here is a natural balcony situated between the settlements
of Luserna S. Giovanni and Angrogna in the lower Pellice Valley. A capital
surveillance point, it was the scene of bloody clashes between the Waldensian
resistance forces and the forces which assaulted and pillaged the valleys.
The site is best known for the 1484 campaign against the Waldensians and the 1663
defense of Angrogna organized by Giosuè Gianavello.
As is the case with many other Historic Waldensian Valleys sites, this place is
well worth seeing, serving as it does both historic and naturalistic interests.
