MV03: T.O.W. Big News & BonJovi tickets.
Hey everybody, I really appreciate the reviews, but I need more! I've only gotten a few and I'm not sure whether or not people are liking it, so the more reviews I get the more inspired I'll be to write good fan fics. Thanks!
This fan fic is more of a stepping stone, it's kind of to get things started so that upcoming fics will make sense. I am a huge BonJovi fan, so if you see that through out this series...that is why. Thanks again everybody!
First Scene-It starts off where MV02 finished. Chandler and Monica are laying on the couch talking about when/where Monica got pregnant.
Chandler-"Do you think it was on our wedding night?"
Monica-"No, I don't think I would be able to tell this soon. Maybe though."
Chandler-"Hmm, then when could it have been?"
Monica shrugs her shoulders.
Joey Enters
Joey-"Hey guys, is it okay if I get some food?"
C&M-"Hi/sure."
Joey remembers that Monica is pregnant.
Joey-(cautiously) "So...do you guys have any news for me?"
Chandler-"Yeah, you were right Joe! Monica's pregnant!"
Joey-"Yes! I'm so happy. Come here!" (motions for them to come TO him and give him a hug.)
Monica-"Okay, so Phoebe knows, and you know Joey. Nobody else though?"
Joey-(thinking for a few seconds) "Yeah, but don't make me keep a secret again! You know I hate that!"
Chandler-"No, don't worry it will only be for one day."
Monica-"Yeah, Chandler and I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. We just want to make sure I'm really pregnant, and get some more information. Then we're going to my parents house to tell them."
Joey-"All right, but just tomorrow. Well I better go. Have fun tonight!" (winks at them assuming they were going to "do it")
C&M-"GOODBYE JOEY."
Joey exits with a slice of old pizza.
Scene two-It's the next day, everybody is at Central Perk except for Chandler and Monica. Joey is listening to a small portable radio. The song "When it's Over," by Sugar Ray is just getting over as the radio DJ begins to talk.
DJ-"Hello New York, you just heard "When It's Over" by Sugar Ray. While the song was on we received some information about an upcoming BonJovi concert on December 18th. The tickets JUST went up for sale, so go out and buy some!"
Joey-(gives a silent scream of excitement)"OH MY GOD, you guys we have got to go to that!"
Everybody-"No/I don't think so/ Nah."
Joey-"Oh come on you guys, we haven't been to a concert in forever, and we all love BonJovi, let's go! Come on please, please, please?!"
Ross-"You know, you're right Joey. It would be a lot of fun. We better get down there fast if we want good seats."
Rachel-"Yeah, but we can't be there too long."
Phoebe-"Why not?"
Rachel-"We're going to Ross's parents to tell them about the baby."
Ross-"Yeah, we're both excited and nervous at the same time."
Joey-"You could just say it's my kid. That might help."
Ross-(sarcasm) "ha, ha, ha."
Scene Three-Chandler and Monica are in the doctors office, waiting for the doctor. Monica is in a gown & laying on the doctors table. Chandler has a doctors face mask on, and is putting the latex gloves on his hands.
Chandler-(trying to act like an evil doctor of some sort) "Hello..MONICA. We're going to have a lot of fun today. Muah Ha Ha." (he snaps the last latex glove on his hand)
Monica laughs
Doctor enters & Chandler rips off the mask & gloves. The doctor gives him a strange look then turns his attention towards Monica.
Dr. Carter-(yes I am a fan of ER) "Hello Monica."
Monica-(almost nervous sounding) "Hi." (chandler puts his hand on her shoulder)
Dr. Carter-"Well, first things first. You were right Monica. You are pregnant! Congratulations! Also, you are now five weeks pregnant. Do you remember where you were around then?"
long pause as they both think
Chandler-"oooh! Now I know! It was when we were in Vegas to talk to my dad."
Monica-(laughing a little) "oh yeah."
Dr. Carter-"Okay, now that we got that out of the way. Do you want to see your baby?"
C&M-"Yeah!"
Brings out Monitor.
Monica-(Dr. Carter is rubbing the gel on Monica's stomach.) "Brr that's cold!"
Dr. Carter-(laughing)"Yeah sorry about that. Okay (starts fidgeting with monitor) Here is your baby.."
C&M both look at the baby in awe.
Chandler-"Yeah... I don't think that baby outfit will fit him."
Monica-"Him? It's a her!"
Chandler-"I'll bet it's a him!"
Monica-"You're on Chandler Bing! Dr. Carter, what is it?"
Dr. Carter-"It's still too soon to tell. I'm sorry."
Monica-"Oh no, don't be sorry. It doesn't matter anyway."
Chandler-"Yeah, we'll love it either way."
Dr. Carter-"Yes, exactly. Well, I'm going to go get a print out of this for you guys. Be right back."
Monica-(grinning) "Thanks."
C&M just look at the picture for a few more seconds.
Chandler-(in a very mellow, romantic tone) "Oh Monica, I love you." (kisses her on cheek)
Monica-(same tone as Chandler) "I love you too."
(another long pause)
Chandler-"Wow, I still can't believe that we're going to have a baby! It's just so incre-(is interrupted by his cell phone) Hello?!" (he answers angrily.)
Screen splits to Joey on left side and Chandler on right. Joey is down waiting in line with Ross, Rachel, & Phoebe.
Joey-"Hey Chan. What are you doing?"
Chandler-(in irritated tone)"Oh umm, let's see, I'm at the doctors looking at a picture of my child. It would really help if you didn't call right now."
Joey-(ignoring Chandlers irritated tone) (Joey turns his back from R,R,&P) "Oh, so she's really pregnant?!"
Chandler-(smiling) "Yeah (pause while he goes into thought) (pulling himself out of thought) So why are you calling?"
Joey-"Well, we're standing in line waiting for BonJovi tickets baby! I was wondering if you wanted us to pick some up for you. You can just pay me back later."
Chandler-"Oh yeah, that sounds great thanks!"
Joey-"Hey, no problem. Do you want me to get a third for the baby?"
Chandler-"You think about that Joe."
Scene ends
Scene four-It's about an hour later. Joey, Phoebe, Ross, and Rachel are all standing in line.
Joey-"I hope we get good seats. BonJovi is the best. What are your favorite songs?"
Rachel-"Oooh, mine is without a doubt, "Livin' on a Prayer."
Ross-"Are you kidding me?! "You give love a bad name" is the best! Jeez!"
Rachel-(in defensive/angry tone) "What are you talking about?! YOU (points to Ross) give love a bad name!"
Ross gives Rachel a "whatever" look.
Phoebe-"Wanna know my favorite song?!"
Everybody-"Yeah/sure/yep."
Phoebe-"Oooh yay! My favorite is "Wanted dead or alive." Because I have been wanted before."
Joey-"That's nice...My favorite is "It's my Life," because it has such a great beat to it, I really love how..(trails off as it starts to rain) Oh man! I forgot my jacket, now I'm getting all wet!"
(Very loud thunder jolts through the air, they all jump together, scared)
Joey-"Please, no! It's not my time yet!"
Phoebe-"Don't worry Joey. I have my tweetie bird umbrella. Oh wait,
it's metal we can't use it."
Joey-"You probably want it to electrify me!!!! You were planning to kill me."
Phoebe-"If I were planning to kill you, do you really think I'd use such a lame plan?"
Joey-"Probably not. (everybody is quiet for a few seconds) I think I'm going to sing "It's my life."
He sings up to the chorus. Just as he is approaching the "It's now or never" the lightning flashes.
Joey-"My life, IT'S (lightning) NOW OR NEVER, PHOEBE HELP!"
Phoebe cradles Joey, as Joey begins to weep.
Ross-"You guys, we better get Rachel out of the rain, we don't want her to get sick."
Rachel-"Yeah, and we have to leave soon anyway."
Joey-(still scared)"PLEASE DON'T GO, I'M SCARED!"
Phoebe-"Don't worry, you have me Joey!"
They both have rain over their faces. It kind of re-enacts one of those dramatic scenes in a movie where they have rain on their face and the dramatic music begins to play.
Joey-"Thank you Phoebe....thank you."(says it very dramatic, and almost gets into some kind of character)
Phoebe-"Wow, you are a good actor!"
Joey-(gets a proud smile on his face) "Yeah, well the moment felt right."
Rachel-"Okay moments over. Joey here's the money for Ross and my ticket. Thanks for waiting for us guys!"
Joey-"Yeah, no problem. But what do you say I take this money and use it for my date tonight?"
Ross gives Joey a sarcastic smile and they all say goodbye. Scene Ends
Scene Five-Ross and Rachel are in the taxi cab. Rachel appears to be nervous and is fidgeting with her hair.
Rachel-"Ross, I don't know if this is right. Why can't you just tell them. Why do you have to have me with you. It's not like we're together or anything."
Ross-"Because, it will just be better that you're there. Don't forget, they are that babies grand parents whether you like it or not."
Rachel-"No, NO! I love you parents. They are great. I'm just nervous about what they're going to say when we tell them. What will they ask us? Come on Ross, aren't you a little nervous? You're their "perfect" son, what will they say when they find out you knocked some chica up?"
Ross-"They'll just be thrilled that they get another grand child. My parents have always loved you anyway. It's not like I got somebody they had never met pregnant."
Rachel-"Really?"
Ross-"Yeah, to tell you the truth they probably still wish we were together. If they had their way we'd be married."
This causes an awkward pause as Ross realizes what he said, Rachel just wonders what he may have meant by that statement.
Ross-(breaking silence) "So, have we decided if we are going to find out ahead of time if it's a boy or a girl?"
Rachel-"It's all up to you. I wouldn't mind knowing because then I can get the right color of clothes and stuff. But if you want to wait I can do that too. I have enough patience."
Ross-"Okay...that really doesn't help in the decision. I guess I'll think about it then. Oh we're here. Don't worry Rach. It won't be that bad."
We see the taxi pull into the driveway. Ross pays the driver, then R&R both jump out of the car and race to the front door so they won't get wet by the rain.
Jack and Judy open door.
Everybody exchanges their "hello's."
Judy-"We're so glad to see you. I hope this important news isn't anything bad."
Jack-"Did you get married again son?"
Ross-(embarrassed sigh) "No dad, nothing like that."
Judy-"Well...what's the news?!"
Ross-"I think we should get dry and comfortable before we discuss it."
Rachel is looking out the window, and see's that Chandler and Monica just pulled up in the Porsche.
Rachel-"Hey look, Monica and Chandler are here."
Jack-"Oh you didn't know they were coming?"
Ross-"No, they didn't even tell us. We didn't tell them either though."
Judy-"You guys hide, we'll surprise them!"
(R&R hide)
Scene skips to C&M outside. Chandler is holding his coat over Monica's head as they walk up to the front door.
Monica-(just as they get to the front door)"Okay Chandler you can put the coat down."
Chandler-"No, not until we're inside. I don't want my wife. My PREGNANT wife to get sick."
He says just as Jack & Judy open the front door.
J&J-"Monica! (they both give her kisses on the cheek and hugs) Chandler!" (Jack gives Chandler a hand shake, Judy gives him a hug.)
Jack-"So you have big news for us?"
Monica-"Yes actually. I think you'll like it very much. Especially you mom..."
They continue talking as the scene skips to R&R in the living room.
Rachel-"What do you think their big news is? They haven't said anything to me. How about you?"
Ross-"No, not at all. It sounds like it's good though so I don't think we have to worry about it."
(just then Jack, Judy, Chandler, and Monica all enter the living room, C&M are surprised to see R&R)
C&M-"Hi/Hey!"
R&R-"Surprise/hi"
Rachel-"So why are you guys here?"
Monica-"Well we have some very important news. I think I know why you're here..."
Ross-"Yes, you do."
Judy-"Okay, Jack and I are very excited to find out you're news. First though, who wants coffee?"
Everybody-"I do/ Me/ Yes please."
Jack & Judy exit, Ross and Rachel immediately charge at C&M to find out their news.
Ross-"What are you guys doing here?
Rachel-"Yeah, what's your news?"
Monica-"I guess you'll just have to wait until we tell Mom and Dad."
Ross-"Uh! You're no fun!"
Rachel-"Chandler, you're easy to crack. What's the news."
Chandler-"You'll know soon enough." (grins and puts his arm around Monica's shoulders)
Scene Ends
Scene Six-Joey and Phoebe are finally up to buy the tickets. They are both soaked and Joey is pouting his lip. He is speechless with fear. Phoebe does most the talking.
Phoebe-(in a rude tone)"Umm, yeah, I'd like six tickets. Get em' as close as you can. NOW!"
Ticket Clerk-"The closest I have is tenth row."
Phoebe-"Yeah? Fine."
Joey-(snapping out of his silence) "Wa- Wai- Wait. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WE JUST FROZE OUR ASSES OFF IN THE RAIN FOR THREE HOURS, WITH ALL THIS SCARY THUNDER AROUND, YOU GIVE US THE BEST DAMN TICKETS POSSIBLE, NOW!"
Ticket Clerk-"I'm sorry, tenth is the best we have. Unless you want backstage passes which cost $250 a piece."
Joey-(turning polite)"Yeah we'll stick with tenth row. Thanks, have a great day." (takes the tickets and leaves)
Scene Seven-Back at Jack and Judy's. C, M, R, & R are all on one long couch. Jack and Judy are on a smaller couch across from them with a coffee table in between them.
Jack-(very excited) "Ross go first! Ross!"
Monica-(sarcastically) "Yes, Ross. Please go first."
Ross-"No, Mon. I want you guys to go first. Please?"
Monica-"Really?"
J, J, R, &R-"Yeah!/ Please!"
Monica-"Okay..(taking deep breath) Well, We just found out yesterday. But.. I'm pregnant!"
Chandler and Monica both make a gesture indicating that it was a huge surprise. Everybody stands up and cheers.
Judy-"FINALLY! Oh Monica, this is so great!"
Monica-"Yeah I know. It's great for Chandler too though! Not just me!"
Judy-"Yes, congratulations Chandler!"
Chandler-(blushing, he is still shy around the Gellars) "Thanks."
Jack-"Yeah, good work Chandler!"
Chandler gives Monica a look of a sarcastic "Okay then!"
Rachel-"Eee! Mon! We're gonna be pregnant together!" (letting R&R's news slip)
Monica-"I know!" (yes, the high pitched, Monica "I know")
Everybody then pauses and realizes what Rachel said.
J&J have questioning looks on their face. C, M, and Ross all have nervous looks on their face. Finally Ross speaks up.
Ross-"Yeah, you heard her right. Rachel is pregnant. I am the father. Which brings me to my big news (Rachel coughs) I mean, which brings me to OUR big news. Mom, Dad... Rachel and I are having a baby. But no we are not in a serious relationship."
At first Jack and Judy look mad, but then they get very excited and start cheering as they did for Chandler and Monica.
Chandler, Monica, Ross, and Rachel all have a big group hug. Jack and Judy cough because they feel left out.
Monica-"Sorry Mom and Dad, come on get in here!"
C, R, & R-"Yeah!/Come on!"
Scene Ends
Last Scene-Everybody except for Joey and Phoebe are in C&M's apartment. Rachel and Monica are talking at the kitchen table. Ross and Chandler are talking in the living room.
Scene focuses on Rachel and Monica for now.
Rachel-"Oh this is so great Mon! I was so nervous to do this on my own."
Monica-"I know, I was worried I would have to do it alone before you found out you were pregnant."
Rachel-"Wait. How long have you known again?"
Monica-"Well I found out on Saturday when you were on your candy & TV marathon. Phoebe caught me looking at pregnancy tests, so she of course found out. She always does that! Then Joey apparently overheard Phoebe and I talking about it, and accidentally let it slip to Chandler that I was pregnant. Anyway, Chandler just found out last night, but I've been pregnant for five weeks."
Rachel-"Oh wow! I'm only a week further than you! Yay!"
Monica-"I know! It's so great! It's perfect."
Rachel-"When did you get pregnant?"
Monica-"Oh, it was when Chandler and I went to Vegas to talk to his dad. I hadn't noticed any difference in myself. But then when I was two weeks late for my period and didn't feel too well, it kind of started to come together."
Rachel-"Ugh, morning sickness?"
Monica-"Yep."
They both give looks showing hatred towards "morning sickness."
Joey and Phoebe enter.
Joey-"Chandler, Monica, you owe me big time! And all four of you should be very thankful of Phoebe and I!"
Chandler-"Why's that?"
Joey-"Phoebe and I stood for three hours, in the freezing rain, and scary thunder, just so we could get tenth row!"
Chandler-"Wow, tenth row? That's really good considering how big that concert is."
Joey-(rolls his eyes) "The point is that standing in the rain and thunder scared to death for three hours only to get tenth row, just isn't right!"
Chandler-(now rolling his eyes) "How much do we owe you?"
Joey-(lying) "100 bucks a piece."
Monica-"You mean a hundred total?"
Joey-"Yeah, fine."
