Researchers are of the opinion
that John's 1st wife died in TN,
in 1806, shortly after the birth
of their son, Robert,
and that soon thereafter,
John moved to KY.
On some records, Barbara
is listed as "Barberry Helton."
Researchers believe that
her maiden name was Shephard,
various descendants think it was
Howard or Brock or Saylor.
